The latest data from ForwardKeys reveals that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine prompted an instant spike in flight cancellations to and from Russia. On 25th February, the day after the start of the invasion, every booking that was made for travel to Russia was outweighed by six cancellations of pre-existing bookings. The source markets exhibiting the highest cancellation rates, in order of volume, were Germany 773%, France 472%, Italy 152%, the UK 254%, India 285% and Turkey 116%.

New research from ForwardKeys, which has the freshest and most comprehensive, commercially available air ticketing data, reveals that flight bookings to and from the UK have soared following the government’s announcement that COVID-19 testing would no longer be required for fully vaccinated travellers entering the UK.

The day after the announcement by UK Transport Secretary, Grant Shapps, which was made on 24th January, combined inbound and outbound flight bookings jumped to 84% of pre-pandemic (2019) levels, outbound to 106% and inbound to 47%.

A new report from ForwardKeys, which has the freshest and most comprehensive air ticketing information available, reveals that the recent lockdowns in China, imposed in response to outbreaks of the Omicron strain of Coronavirus have cast a long shadow over new year travel plans.

The latest data, as of 11th January, shows flight bookings for the upcoming holiday period, 24th January – 13th February, were 75.3% behind pre-pandemic levels but 5.9% ahead of last year’s dismally low levels.

A new report from , which has the freshest and most comprehensive air ticketing data available, reveals there was a surge in flight bookings from and to on 22nd December last year, as travellers rushed to beat the suspension of Singapore’s vaccinated travel lanes (VTLs), which was implemented to curb the spread of the Omicron variant.

The VTLs were introduced in early September, allowing vaccinated travellers to Singapore to avoid being subject to a stay-home notice if they instead underwent multiple tests. By late December, Singapore had VTLs in place with 24 countries.

The Directorate of Public Health in Aruba has signed a binding memorandum of understanding with OK2Roam which will enable travellers coming to to enter the country without needing to present or upload a certificate. All they need do is take a PCR test with one of the government-approved laboratories in the large, international network provided by VFS Global. OK2Roam, which conceived the initiative, is providing a secure data connection between the lab network and Aruba’s online ED entry platform.
