When Peter King brought us on board for the Supergirl Official journey, we knew it was going to be something special. It turned out to be one of the most creative and enjoyable projects we’ve ever had the pleasure of working on.

We’re incredibly grateful to have been trusted with such a huge variety of character lens designs. From subtle enhancements to some truly wild creations, every brief gave us the chance to push our creativity—and we loved every minute of it.

Here’s another set of lenses created for the Supergirl Official background Humanoids. So much fun to bring these characters to life! Again we could not have done this without our amazing team of opticians and Kevin Carters mind blowing artistry. 🙌🙌🙌🙌

Another set of lenses we had the pleasure of supplying for Supergirl Official.

Meet the ‘Wirey Criminal’, brilliantly portrayed by James Eeles 🥣. This was one of our favourite designs to work on and one of the more subtle, “natural-looking” lens effects featured in the film.

The brief was to create the appearance of an old, traumatic eye injury that left the character looking worn, obscure and slightly unsettling. We designed a severely distorted traumatic pupil for the left eye, suggesting a penetrating injury, paired with a more subtly distorted pupil on the right. The left lens offered almost no vision, so huge credit to James Eeles 🥣, who powered through every scene like a pro.

The level of iris detail in these lenses was incredible. Even at close range, they looked beautifully translucent and lifelike. Massive kudos to lens artist Kevin Carter for creating such an outstanding set—easily one of our favourites from the production.

As always, this was a fantastic collaborative effort.

Another set of custom scleral lenses we had the pleasure of providing for Supergirl Official movie.

Designed by Peter King, supplied, fitted and onset care by Eyeworks For Film, beautifully hand-painted by Kevin Carter, and expertly worn by Lex Milczarek.

These were a particularly challenging pair from a vision standpoint. To achieve the final look, the lenses needed significant stabilisation, and the clear pupil had to be kept incredibly small. Despite that, Lex Milczarek wore them like an absolute champ throughout.

A real team effort to bring this character to life.

The angel that is Winnie Ama wearing her custom blue contact lenses for Supergirl Official just like they were made for her…. And they were of course! She looked absolutely stunning in the flesh as this character and sounded as divine as she looked.

Absolutely superb lens paintwork, so beautiful and natural yet punchy in all the right places worked magically with the mind blowing make up and hair. Mega shout out to Kevin Carter. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

We had so much fun being part of the new Supergirl movie, mainly because of the sheer diversity of looks we got to sink our teeth into, all under the direction of the mighty makeup designer Peter King. 👁️✨

No two supporting actors had the same lens design — different planets, different species, different eyes. So much fun bringing each one to life, and honestly every single one deserves its own spot on the grid.

Huge thanks for bringing us on board for such a creative journey. 🙌🙌🙌

These beauties were hand-painted especially for us by Jessica A Nelson. Absolutely incredible work! 🙌🙌🙌

REPOST from the amazing Georgia Hobbs Georgia Hobbs. Describing the design process for the on Supergirl Official. Wearing our custom painted small diameter blue lenses painted by Kevin Carter. These guys were fierce and not to be messed with 👊💪

Creating the SKLARIANS for Supergirl Official
Outer spaces favourite blue pirates! These characters certainly went on a journey, but ultimately we loved the end result.
We did countless tests (on ourselves as well as on our lovely cast) to get each blue tone looking as much like skin as possible.
Sam Shuck gracefully mixed up each custom Skin Illustrator Official colour once we were finally happy on the outcome. Which was airbrushed onto the skin as a base. Then we broke this base up with a deeper tone to contour the skin and different layers of flicking. Karla Cosmetics loose pigment eyeshadows were used as a highlighter to add dimension back to the skin.
In terms of hair design, Peter wanted the wigs to be made into a super cool mullet-esque style. Each with their own unique direction. The metal hair pieces were all handmade and painted by myself and Sam Shuck and sewn into the wigs.

JJ wore foam latex appliances with beautiful hair work by Chloe Muton-Phillips .gaite and team. He also had a skull cap with magnetic sockets to house 3D printed flexible horns.
