TOPIC: THE BATTLE OF THE MIND

SCRIPTURE: For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he… Proverbs 23:7a

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The greatest enemy of man is the wrong mindset.

I once heard an interesting story. It was about the circus elephant, the elephant that is usually seen playing freely in the circus.

Now, this is what happens: when the elephant is freshly taken from the wild, it is tied down with a chain to a pole and allowed to move around in circles as the length of the chain permits. Any time the elephant attempts to move out, the chain would draw it back, and it would return and continue moving in circles within the limit of the chain. After a while, it realizes that it is not permitted to move beyond the limit of the chain, so, it remains there. At the end of the day, when they remove the chain from its leg, it would continue to move around in circles, unable to cross the limit set by the chain. Now, this is what happens: even though the chain had been removed from its leg, the bo***ge has already been transferred to its mind. The chain has left the leg and is now in the mind. In its mind, there is still a chain. There is something in its mind that tells it, “Thus far can you go and no further.” So, the elephant moves around in a circle.

That is the case of many people. They have remained in some degree of suffering and affliction, surrounded with a community of satanic frustration for such a long time that even when they have been set free, there is an established limitation in their mind that makes it impossible for them to excel.

It has been discovered that chronic existence in bo***ge can lead to addiction to bo***ge. A person can come to a point where a situation of bo***ge has so permeated his mind and spirit that he is unable to accept the reality of deliverance and liberty.

Sometime ago, I met a girl who revealed that she was a pr******te, her mother was a pr******te, and her grandmother was also a pr******te. And so, she lived under the atmosphere, consciousness and influence of that bo***ge and captivity. Although she may not really want to be in that bo***ge, it had already entered her mind, and so she had to manifest it physically.

Beloved, the greatest enemy of man is not witches, wizards or generational curses. Yes, they do exist, but the greatest enemy of man is the wrong mindset. For as a man thinketh in his heart so is he (Proverbs 23:7). So, reset your mentality and everything will align in your favour.

Remember this: The greatest enemy of man is the wrong mindset.

ASSIGNMENT (S):

Reset your mind if your mind does not align with the Word of God concerning your life.
Let the Word of God define what you believe.
PRAYER: Lord, I cast down every imagination that does not conform to your Word or plan for my life. Everything is working together for my good, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: MENTAL SLAVERY – THE WORST KIND OF SLAVERY

SCRIPTURE: And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger. Exodus 16:3

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Whatever you see coming will come.

The study of medicine confirms that one of the secrets of good treatment is a good diagnosis. Good therapeutics are predicated on good diagnosis, because a health challenge you cannot diagnose, you cannot treat.

Most people do not know what their problems are. And when you don’t understand the problem, you will never be able to find the solution.

I was baffled by the story of the children of Israel. A people that God brought out from Egypt after 430 years of bo***ge. They suffered untold hardship in slavery before their liberation came. On their way from the land of slavery to the Land of Promise, they murmured at every little thing. And it looked to me like they were not free.

God remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and delivered them from bo***ge through mighty miracles, signs and wonders.

But even though they were now physically free and out of Egypt, the land of captivity, they were mentally bound in captivity, so they perished on their way to the Promised Land.

Beloved, it is one thing to come out of captivity, but it is another thing to get into destiny. It is one thing to come out of Egypt, but it is another thing to enter the Land of Canaan. The generation that came out of Egypt could not enter Canaan because of their unbelief and slavish mentality, except Joshua and Caleb who believed the Word of God.

There is a form of captivity that is worse than physical captivity. There is something worse than the oppressive hold of witches and wizards, and that is mental slavery and captivity. The worst kind of slavery or captivity on earth is mental slavery.

They came out of Egypt, but Egypt did not come out of them. A person can be physically free, but if he is mentally enslaved, nobody, including God, can help him. So, a great majority of people are blaming the devil for nothing; their real problem is mental slavery.

Let me give you one symptom of mental bo***ge or slavery. It is called bo***ge consciousness. When a person is mentally bound, he is bo***ge conscious.

There are people in many churches today who believe the devil is trying to attack them whenever they have a little dream. There are people who run from church to church, prophet to prophet for deliverance until there is no more place to go or prophet to run to. They can never imagine freedom. It is too real for them to believe that for one full year the devil did not pursue or attack them.

Beloved, believe in the finished work of Christ for you. Renew your mind with the Word of God so you can stay victorious.

Whatever you see coming will come. So, see yourself in liberty, success, peace, good health, prosperity and abundance.

Remember this: Whatever you see coming will come.

ASSIGNMENT (S):

Renew your mind daily with the Word of God.
Refuse to think about what you do not desire.
Reject every form of captivity mentality around you.
PRAYER: Lord, thank You for Your finished work at Calvary. I refuse to tolerate any form of captivity around me. I was freed at Calvary and remain free, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: NEVER INVEST FOR DEMOLITION

SCRIPTURE: If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. 1Corinthians 15:19

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Anyone whose only hope is in this life is a most miserable person.

Sometime ago, someone died in the eastern part of Nigeria, and as they were burying him, a mad man stood and said, ‘Hold on! See his car, put the car in the grave too; let it follow him. Don’t bury only him; put his properties in the grave too. Amazingly, the mad man was preaching a message.

The truth is, no matter how rich you are, it has never been possible for a man to go to eternity with even a dime. Job says in Job 1:21, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither:

If a man had no relationship with God before his death, he only wasted his lifetime.

Beloved, take note of these three things.

Anyone whose only hope is in this life is a most miserable person. No wonder, Paul the apostle says in 1Corinthians 15:19, If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.This implies that anyone whose life only centres around the things of this life is a miserable person. A multi-millionaire, a billionaire, president of a country, or governor of a state whose hope is only centred in this world, is a miserable person. He is miserable because he is hoping in a system that is doomed to crash and marked for demolition.
Anyone whose affection is centred on the things of this world is living a life of waste. A person whose affection is only for the things of this life is living a life of waste. A person who is married to the things of this life will acquire eternal frustration.
Anyone whose investment is only directed at earthly materials is investing into demolition. Show me a man whose investment, energy, and time are only in this world, I will show you a man who is investing into a system that is marked for demolition.
Beloved, refuse to channel your affection only on the things of this world that will one day fade away. Let your investment be towards God and eternal matters because one day, eternity shall start for all, both great and small.

Remember this: Anyone whose only hope is in this life is the most miserable person.

ASSIGNMENT (S):

Keep your affection on Christ and on eternal matters, not on the things of this world.
Ask God to keep you permanently hungry for Him.
PRAYER: Lord, draw me closer to You each day. Help me to invest in things that have eternal values as I fulfil my purpose on earth, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: BORROWING – THE ENEMY OF THE FUTURE

SCRIPTURE: For the LORD thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee. Deuteronomy 15:6

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Borrowing empties tomorrow into today.

It has been established that every commandment God gives to His people is for their benefit, and not for the benefit of God.

The Scripture says that His commandments are not grievous (1John 5:3). When He said the children of Israel should circumcise their children on the eighth day, someone may ask, “Why not on the sixth, seventh or ninth day? Why must it be on the eighth day?” Now, it was said to have been discovered scientifically some years ago that Prothrombin, a clothing factor, was highest in the blood on the eighth day after birth such that when you do circumcision on the eight day, the tendency of bleeding to death is highly minimized. So, whenever God tells you not to do anything, it is not for His own sake.

Our anchor scripture reveals another commandment from God which says, thou shalt not borrow. It is both a prophecy and a command. And it is for our benefit.

Today, we shall be looking at some of the dangers of borrowing. These are the reasons why borrowing should be avoided.

The mentality of borrowing is the mentality of scarcity. You must think scarcity before you can think of borrowing. And mentality determines reality (Proverbs 23:7). The mentality of borrowing will produce the reality of scarcity.
The act of borrowing establishes financial servitude. Proverbs 22:7 says,The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender. So, borrowing establishes a person in financial servitude.
Borrowing is an anti-covenant operation that frustrates the working of the covenant. In the covenant, you are to lend not to borrow, you are to give, not to beg (Deuteronomy 15:6).If you are a tither, a giver, and a Sower, but you are also a beggar and a borrower, it is plus one, minus one; it is counterproductive. The effect of your giving is nullified by your action because borrowing is looking for alternative sources of supplies other than God, your only Supplier.
Borrowing empties tomorrow into today. When you borrow, you spend the money that you have not yet earned; it destroys the future. What belongs to tomorrow you spend it today, so when tomorrow arrives, you are empty.
Beloved, do not finish tomorrow before it arrives. Avoid borrowing if you want to reach where God wants you to reach. The only thing you are permitted to owe people is love (Romans 13:8).

Remember this: Borrowing empties tomorrow into today.

ASSIGNMENT (S):

Avoid the temptation of borrowing.
Trust in God for supplies; never look up to any man.
Refuse to eat up everything that enters your hands; save a portion of it.
PRAYER: Lord, I look up to You for my daily bread. I refuse to be a victim of the spell of borrowing. Thank You Lord for steady supernatural supplies and the wisdom to manage it, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: SURVIVING AND THRIVING IN PERILOUS TIMES

SCRIPTURE: He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. PSALM 91:1.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The Word you carry shields you.

There are several indicators confirming the fact that we are living in perilous times. We have seen the multiplication of wickedness in different parts of the world today.

The world is in very dangerous times, but that is not our fear. Our fear is in the Most High. Isaiah 8:13-14 says, Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread. So, if there is anything or anyone to fear, let Jehovah be that fear. Verse 14 says, And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. The meaning is, when you fear God instead of the fears around you, He shall be to you a sanctuary of refuge and a stone of stumbling and a rock of offence to those who don’t fear Him.

Now, seeing that we are living in dangerous times, it is important, therefore, to know what it takes to survive and thrive in perilous times.
So, what are the keys to surviving and thriving in perilous times?

1. Dwelling in God’s Presence (Psalm 91:1). Do all you can, do everything you can to maintain that feelable, palpable, and tangible presence of God. Let God's Presence be feelable around you all the time.

2. Praying without ceasing (1Thessalonians 5:17). To pray without ceasing means to pray like you breathe because breathing is what you do without ceasing. Pray like your life depends on your prayer life. That was a secret of Paul the Apostle. Everything came against him, but nothing could bury him.

3. Sensitivity to Divine signals (Romans 8:14). Be spiritually sensitive. For instance, no matter how prepared you are for a journey, if you lose your peace and you don't feel like moving, stay put.

4. Engaging the power of the Word. The power of the Word is the same as the power of light (Psalm 91:4, John 1:5). The Word you carry shields you. It is revelation from the Word that guarantees your preservation.

5. Upholding the shield of faith. No matter what you hear or see, don't let your faith be shaky (Ephesians 6:16). Never let any power on earth convince you that you could be the next target for casualty, because it is unto you according to your faith, not according to the situation in the world.
You are preserved, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: The Word you carry shields you.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Refuse to fear

2. Search the scripture and locate revelations that guarantee your preservation, keep them in your heart as your shield.

3. Ensure God’s presence is feelable around you.

PRAYER: Thank You Lord for being my Shield. I am too defended to be wasted. Lord, guide my steps away from disaster, in the Name of Jesus Christ.

TOPIC: IMPACT DESPITE SETBACK

SCRIPTURE: The king of Aram had great admiration for Naaman, the commander of his army, because through him the LORD had given Aram great victories. But though Naaman was a mighty warrior, he suffered from leprosy. 2 KINGS 5:1 (NLT).

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To wait until you have no challenge at all before making impact is to live and die useless.

Our anchor scripture makes it abundantly clear that it is possible to live an impactful life despite setbacks. It is possible to have outstanding results in life and command the attention of your generation despite setbacks in personal life.

Challenges are parts of life to varying degrees. Everyone has one little challenge or the other, in one area or the other, and at one point or the other in life. At every point in time, you are either celebrating victory or confronting a challenge. And to celebrate victory means you just came out of a challenge. It means you just overcame an obstacle. The only person who is without a battle, a challenge, or a problem is the one in the graveyard. To wait until you have no challenge at all before making impact is to live and die useless.

Ecclesiastes 11:4 says, Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest (NLT).

If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done. If you are waiting until every condition around your life is perfect, you will never get anything done.

Beloved, note that the excuse not to do something will always be available. Naaman had great qualifications, even though he was a l***r. He proved that one could make impact despite setbacks.

First, the Bible said that he was a captain of the host. That is, he was the chief of staff of the Syrian Army. In other words, Syrian army could not go into battle until Naaman had given the command.

Second, the Bible said that he was a great man with his master.

Third, he was an honorable man.

Fourth, by him God gave Syrians deliverance.

Fifth, he was a mighty man of valour; he was a first-class soldier. He was a military strategist. He was a war lord par excellence. All these qualifications and achievements came ahead of and overshadowed his identity as a l***r. He did not allow leprosy to frustrate his destiny.

Meanwhile, in Naaman’s day, there were people with two hands, two feet, strait nose, clean skin that could have been the Chief of Army Staff but none of them had the capacity, audacity, ferocity, brutality, strategy, and stamina of Naaman. So even though he was a l***r, he commanded non-leprous people. He had more impact than non-l***rs. He was a l***r, but he affected his generation positively.

Beloved, never permit any setback of your life to render you irrelevant. Never allow any condition to make you useless. Never allow any setback to set you at the back.

And I don’t care what setback you may be dealing with in your life now, if you can make up your mind that no adversity shall stop your destiny, you will command the attention of your generation.

Remember this: To wait until you have no challenge at all before making impact is to live and die useless.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Stop looking at your ‘limitation’; start taking advantage of what you have and maximize every opportunity that comes your way.

2. Refuse to exit this world without making a mark.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for Your investment in my life. I receive the grace to manifest every deposit of your grace in my life. No setback will stop me from making impact, and no adversity shall stop my destiny, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: YOUR LOVE-LIFE AND YOUR HEALTH

SCRIPTURE: He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 1John 4:8

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Walking in love is walking in the Life of God.

It has been confirmed that there is a connection between a person’s love-life and their quality of health. Walking in love keeps a person in sound health.

On the other hand, walking in bitterness and hate makes a person vulnerable to afflictions. Hebrews 12:15 says, Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; So, bitterness and hate trouble the body; they trouble the entire body system.

Staying in sound health is crucial if one must fulfil destiny. So, today, we shall look at the connection between love-life and health. How does walking in love keep us in health?

Love connects man to the life of God. 1John 4:8 says, He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. Walking in love is walking in the Life of God. Walking in love grants us access to the Life of God. And that Life of God is a sickless It is literally a tireless and oppression-free life.
Love is strong enough to withstand the forces of disease and death. Songs of Solomon 8:6 says… for love is strong as death… That is, love is equal to the task of death. Dorcas walked out on death by her practice of love (Acts 9:36-42). When Dorcas died, the widows surrounded her.They began to recount what she did for them, saying: she paid my house rent, she paid my children’s school fees, see the clothes she made for me and my children. And Peter was there with the fire of God. And heaven must have said: This is not a person that is permitted to die now. That death was reversed by the force of love.
Beloved, walk in love. Proceed as a giver. Go forward in impacting your generation. And whenever the force of premature exit comes your way, the force of love will bounce it back to hell.

Love prevents the root of trouble from developing.It prevents the root of systemic trouble (Hebrews 12:15). When you allow the root of bitterness, hatred or lovelessness to spring up in your heart, you have opened a door for trouble in your life.
Beloved, are you interested in your health? Walk in love and the power in the Life of God will revitalize your body and keep you in sound health.

Remember this: Walking in love is walking in the life of God.

ASSIGNMENT (S):

Trust God for His grace to forgive and love those who have offended you.
Practically demonstrate love; give to someone in need today.
Refuse to be discouraged even if you have ever been rewarded with ingratitude and disrespect by someone to whom you have shown love.
PRAYER: Lord, I refuse to allow any root of bitterness to develop in my heart and trouble my life. Cause every part of my body to function perfectly as I walk in love, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: GUIDELINES TO KNOWING THE WILL OF GOD

SCRIPTURE: I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly. Psalms 85:8

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Be patient to learn His Voice. Be patient in the process of learning and knowing the Voice of God.

One of the most important things to happen to anyone is knowing what God is saying and doing it.

When it was time to marry, knowing and following the voice of God got me married to the right person – my wife. If I did not hear God, maybe the story would have been different today.

Stepping into the Ministry by Divine direction also got us to where we are today. If I did not hear God, maybe many people wouldn’t have known me or the Ministry today.

It is very important for us to know what God wants to do with our lives per time.

That is why shall be looking at the guidelines on hearing from God today. We are going to explore four guidelines that will facilitate our knowledge of the will of God for our lives:

Be Word-filled. Be filled with the Word of God continually so you can know whether what you hear is from God or not.
The Bible says in Psalms 29:2-3, Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. The voice of the Lord is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the Lord is upon many waters.

The ‘waters’ here refers to the Word, according to Ephesians 5:26: That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word. That scripture says, the Voice of the Lord is upon the waters (The Word). That means the Voice of the Lord is upon the Word. So, be filled with the Word continually; it will help you to know whether what you hear is from God or not.

You know someone can suddenly wake up one day and say, “God says my millions is in the sale of to***co; I am going to make a lot of money by selling to***co.” That is completely contrary to the Word of God.

Be committed to doing what is written while seeking to know or hear what God is saying. Identify what has been written and keep doing it even as you trust God to hear what He is saying. There are so many things to do with the Word of God.
Be patient to learn His Voice. Be patient in the process of learning and knowing the Voice of God (1Samuel 16:1-8). Don’t get angry if you ever miss it; don’t be mad at yourself. It shows that you are only human. You are a learner. All you need to do is to say to God, “Lord, it looks like I did not hear you in this case. Please help me to hear you better.”
Don’t expect God to speak to you the same way He speaks to another. Don’t expect God to speak to you the same way someone else said He spoke to them. Don’t expect that because that may get you discouraged. Some people are more visionary than others. There are people that have sharper hearings than others.
Beloved, trust God to speak to you the way that is unique to you. Trust God to speak to you in a language you can understand. I see the Voice of the Lord coming for you, in the Name of Jesus Christ.

Remember this: Be patient to learn His Voice. Be patient in the process of learning and knowing the Voice of God.

TOPIC: THE SECRET OF WISDOM

SCRIPTURE: And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. Job 28:28

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Iniquity fuels stupidity, but integrity sharpens mentality.

It has been confirmed that wisdom is behind the making of kingdom stars. Proverbs 8:15,16 says, By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth. Nothing puts people in charge like wisdom.

Having seen the critical necessity of wisdom, it is important to explore the secrets of wisdom. Today, we shall be looking at one secret of wisdom which is The fear of the Lord (Job 28:28, Psalm 111:10, Proverbs 9:10 and Proverbs 15:33).

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Anyone who fears God cannot escape wisdom, and the one who does not fear God has no option but to be buried in stupidity.

The truth is, iniquity fuels stupidity, but integrity sharpens mentality. For example, Solomon came to a point where he lost all integrity, so he lost his mentality until he married seven hundred wives and three hundred concubines.

Now, what is the fear of the Lord?

The fear of the Lord is the hatred of evil. Those who fear God hate evil. They are not comfortable with bribery, corruption, cheating, duping, immorality, lying, stealing, etc. They have a conscience that is alive and awake.
The fear of the Lord is the keeping of His commandments. (Ecclesiastes 12:13). When we follow His instruction, we flow in His inspiration.
The fear of the Lord is existence in the consciousness of His Presence (Psalm 14:5). The Presence of the Lord imparts fear, and the fear of the Lord imparts the consciousness of God’s Presence. God is not physically there but you operate as though He is physically there.
Beloved, when you connect with the fear of the Lord, you connect with wisdom. And when you connect with wisdom, you connect with stardom, royalty and the Blessing.

Remember this: Iniquity fuels stupidity, but integrity sharpens mentality.

ASSIGNMENT (S):

Let the fear of God precede every action you take.
Avoid living in guilt.
Maintain the company of the Holy Ghost.
PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to love, reverence and fear You. Help me to operate in the realm of wisdom, Lord in Jesus’ Name.
