“The concept for the awards trophies is a celebration of the hidden craft behind music. Taking inspiration from electrical equipment and circuit boards viewed in X-ray form, the design reimagines the analogue gear that has shaped countless recordings at Abbey Road.” - Rose Pilkington ✨

We’re proud to reveal the bespoke trophies for tonight’s Abbey Road Music Photography Awards, designed by London-based artist Rose Pilkington – best known for her immersive digital work for Romy, Jamie xx and Burberry, and for creating Instagram’s iconic gradient.

Her artworks magnify and abstract imagery of mixing consoles and studio equipment – revealing the inner workings of the machines and craftsmanship behind the music.

A truly unique celebration of artistry, innovation and sound, perfect for this evening’s awards! 💚

Royal Philharmonic Orchestra joined us (in Studio One) to record ‘Hitmaker’ - a collection of ten timeless songs by celebrated Croatian composer Đorđe Novković 🎼

Among the sessions was a truly moving performance of Nada (Hope) by the iconic Gabi Novak 💫. This became her final recording, captured just weeks before her passing at 90, with lyrics written by her husband, the legendary Arsen Dedić.

We’re honoured Abbey Road could be part of this powerful tribute ❤️

Last week we welcomed Jill Furmanovsky back to Abbey Road for the launch of her new book ‘Oasis: Trying to Find a Way Out of Nowhere’ - 30 years of Oasis through Jill’s lens, paired with words by Noel Gallagher ❤️

The evening brought together friends and collaborators, including David Gilmour, Nick Mason, Gem Archer and Ysee, all there to celebrate Jill’s legendary body of work. It was a reminder of just how much love and respect her photography has inspired over the years.

As Noel told The Mirror: “Over time the friendship becomes more important than the work and then the work gets better. Now it’s like she’s part of the family.”

Limited edition signed prints copies of the book are available via | Congrats Jill 👏

Happy Hobbit Day, Middle-Earthlings! 🧙

Today, we raise a pint to two of the Shire’s finest straight from the magical world of J.R.R. Tolkien - Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, as today is their shared birthday 🍻

Our journey through Middle-earth began with the very first Peter Jackson film, when Howard Shore brought the iconic soundtrack to Studios One and Two with the , the Philharmonic Chorus and the Trinity Boys’ Choir. Since then, our studios have continued to play host to scores from across The Lord of the Rings universe, films, games and TV alike 🎶

So, in true Hobbit style: feast well, lose yourself in Tolkien’s words, and maybe set off on a little adventure of your own today! ✨

The most famous recording studio in the world...

Abbey Road Studios has been at the forefront of music creativity since Sir Edward Elgar’s inaugural performance back in 1931. An awe-inspiring location, popular with leading orchestras and artists including Florence and the Machine, Kanye West and Adele, Abbey Road has hosted many landmark recordings and technological breakthroughs.

The most famous, and oldest, purpose built recording studio in the world, Abbey Road is of course synonymous with The Beatles, but its unparalleled history spans the invention of stereo and the wild experiments of Pink Floyd to the creation of film scores for movies including Star Wars and Skyfall. Abbey Road was declared an English Heritage Grade II listed site in 2010, but the focus continues to be on the future and helping to spread the expertise and knowledge present within the building to a new generation of musicians, engineers and producers around the world.
