Last night, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the premiere of the highly anticipated film "Two of a Kind." As an avid fan of Shirley Frimpong-Manso’s work, I couldn’t pass up the chance to witness her latest creation on the big screen. Over the years, Shirley has established herself as a true pioneer in the film industry, crafting stories that resonate deeply with audiences both in Africa and the diaspora. Even though we "diasporans" are sadly missing out on "Madam," her latest TV series, her films continue to entertain and inspire us.

The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the chance to see Rita Dominic, a legendary figure in Nollywood whose talent has captivated audiences since the '90s. I have been a massive fan of hers since watching "Face of a Liar," alongside Stella Damasus. Seeing her in person was nothing short of a dream come true for me—definitely a moment of fan-girling that I won’t forget!

"Two of a Kind" did not disappoint. The film showcases the brilliance of both Shirley and Rita, weaving a narrative that is rich in culture and emotion. The chemistry between the cast members, coupled with stunning cinematography and a gripping storyline, truly makes this film a must-see.

For those in the UK, "Two of a Kind" is now showing in cinemas like Odeon, Vue, and Cineworld. But don’t worry, my fellow Ghanaians! The film will be making its way to our screens from December 20th. Mark your calendars—you won't want to miss it!

It’s evenings like this that remind me of the importance of supporting African cinema. Films like "Two of a Kind" not only entertain us but also tell our stories, highlight our struggles, and celebrate our triumphs. Here’s to more film premieres that bring together talented storytellers and passionate fans!
Thanks for the ticket & Hetty for coming with me
