Last year, I hosted a Twitter Space talking about property investment in South Africa, and I also spoke about retirement permits that allow people from around the world, including Zimbabweans, to come and live in South Africa, as I did myself, legally.
Today I was really happy to receive a message from a lady telling me that, based on the advice I shared, she managed to buy a home in South Africa. She lives in the United Kingdom and she is Zimbabwean.
This is what social media should be about, helping each other to become better people, to create wealth, to build proper profiles, and to have something to pass on to our children, instead of using it as a toxic platform to fight each other, insult each other, and lie about each other. You need to focus on things that actually make you a better person.
So while I am sharing useful information here, some people come only to insult me and say whatever they want. At the same time, others are taking notes and building wealth, like this lady. I am glad that the advice I share is helping other people build their wealth, build property portfolios, and move forward in life.
Instead of coming here to insult me and spread lies, like that man who was arrested in Leeds for running a three year campaign of lies against me, use this platform, and many others like it, to gain knowledge and focus on the things you need to learn in order to build wealth.
Let me remind you again. Banks in South Africa give 50 percent mortgages to foreign nationals who do not even live in South Africa. As long as you can prove your source of income and show that you have a job or a business that enables you to service the bond, they will give you a mortgage. You do not need to have a permit to live in South Africa to get that.
You do not want to be in your 50s or 60s and have nothing to your name, nothing to leave to your children and grandchildren, and nothing to look after you in old age. It is painful to reach old age, or retirement age, and have nothing, no assets and no source of income.
When you have properties, you live a comfortable life because you know you are collecting monthly US$2,000 from one property in Zimbabwe, £2,500 from a UK property, and R40,000 from a property you bought fifteen years ago in Sandton. You live comfortably. You go on holiday. You do things. You are not stressed about survival.
So do not waste your time on social media doing silly things. Ten, fifteen, or twenty years from now, you will look back, and you will either be grateful you used your time well, or you will be living with regret and pain.
