Madeley, Telford — 18 September 2026

Around 6:35pm last night, a bus driver was reportedly assaulted and forced off a bus on Court Street.

The bus was then driven the wrong way along Park Way towards the High Street, colliding with several cars before police stopped the vehicle.

A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of robbery and dangerous driving. The bus driver suffered minor injuries, while no other injuries were reported.
The man remains in police custody as enquiries continue.

AS UK AIRPORTS HIT BY MAJOR DISRUPTION
Around 600 flights have been cancelled after a technical fault hit air traffic control provider NATS, disrupting operations at major UK airports including:
Heathrow
Gatwick, Stansted, London City, Luton, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Aberdeen
Departures were temporarily paused at several airports, while arriving flights continued.
Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander said the fault was fixed by early evening, but warned that it would take time for operations to return to normal.
The disruption also affected Dublin and Edinburgh airports because of restrictions on UK airspace.
