Day 1 – The Entrance

Some archive moments are simply unforgettable.

Joe Pasquale quite the entrance—arriving on the back of a bumper car driven by Maureen Rees, famous for needing seven attempts to pass her driving test! Rolling into a packed theatre without a care in the world,

it’s a moment of pure comedy gold.

Before the planet documentaries, there was the broadcasting revolution.

In this wonderful TV-am clip, Sir David Attenborough talks to Nick Owen about becoming Controller of BBC Two and helping introduce colour TV to Britain.

100 years old today, and still one of the greatest voices and minds in television history.

Happy Birthday, Sir David Attenborough.

America finally decided soccer might be worth paying attention to… just in time for the 2026 FIFA World Cup 😅

Soccer Meets America premieres this week on The Roku Channel, diving into the long, weird, passionate journey of how the world’s game slowly worked its way into a country mostly busy with football, baseball, basketball, tailgates, and commercials.

Really excited that we licensed archival content into the series, with archive production led by Joshua Kolenik.

From the NASL days to World Cup fever to today’s soccer culture boom — it’s a fun ride through the moments that got us here.

Big congratulations to Juan Andrés Bello for representing VRSC ARAC so brilliantly in São Paulo this week 🇧🇷

From organizing to participating in a truly international panel, this was a fantastic showcase of how vital archival research is to storytelling—and why early collaboration with archive professionals makes all the difference.

Great to see voices from across Brazil, Argentina, and Canada coming together for this conversation.

Congrats to Juan Andres Bello for representing the VRSC ARAC so splendidly in Sao Paulo Brasil this week. He was one of the organizers and participants on an international panel featuring archive producers from Brasil, Argentina and Canada.

What role does archival research play in audiovisual storytelling? And why does involving archive professionals early in a project matter?

With the support of Fox Archives, this panel brings together archive researchers from Canada, Argentina and Brazil to discuss visual research in the production process. The conversation looks at how these professionals work, how they collaborate with writers, directors and producers, and the importance of building relationships with different archives while reducing production costs.

Speakers include Laura Tusi (Focal), Helena Tassara (PAVIC) and Juan Andrés Bello (VRSC).
