What’s the opposite of a highlight reel?
Not gonna lie- it’s been a tough few months, from struggling to find work, to boat renovations, to an eczema explosion on my face & hands, to just feeling completely lost in life (I’m only 37- that’s normal right?), it’s been a ride.
My first instinct when things get tough is to hide. I shrink myself, lose track of replying to messages and switch from creating content to consuming it. I wallow, and I do it alone.
I finally feel like I’m coming out the other side, after being in Scotland (still have the lovely accent ringing in my ears) for a beautiful family vacation, and constantly being reminded of all the support around me (🤍🙏) things are starting to feel manageable again.
I keep coming back to the realisation that all of it is my doing.
The goods times? I created them.
The bad times? I created those too (or at least allowed myself to fall victim to them).
We’re our own worst enemies, but also our own biggest cheerleaders. We get to decide how we move through every situation that life hands us (imagine that!).
It’s easy to fall into victim mode and be swallowed whole by the hard times, it takes 10x more energy and effort to chose to rise out of them and take action against those hard times.
Sure, we need to feel and move through the bad times because without them we wouldn’t know the good ones.
The trouble starts when we allow ourselves to get stuck in the bad times and they bleed into every corner of our minds and lives, slowly feeding into the negative narrative we’re subconsciously running in the background.

I’m very grateful for all of the love and support in my love ♥️ Going on 40 and still struggle to accept and ask for help, can anyone relate??
