A British tabletop games and entertainment publisher working with creative talent to bring you unique gaming worlds through roleplaying, miniatures & board games.
Modiphius was started by Chris & Rita Birch in their basement flat in 2012 and has since grown to a global team of 46 with more than 100 freelancers supporting our many projects. Chris first discovered ‘fantasy’ games age 8 with D&D and then Steve Jackson’s Ogre, then through a wide experience of historical & fantasy miniatures games, classic and new RPG’s and endless board games he found a passion for creating new worlds through tabletop games. Chris’s first commercial project was the Starblazer Adventures roleplaying game released through Cubicle 7, based on the classic British science-fiction comic series.
Modiphius was launched to promote Chris’s next venture, and our first Modiphius project, Achtung! Cthulhu. Described as “World War Two with Tentacles”, the Kickstarter for Achtung! Cthulhu was a spectacular success and helped launch the company. Considering we thought it would just fund ‘a couple of books’ it was quite an experience!
Whilst we’ve grown fast since, we try to keep the family atmosphere and passion that led us to create Modiphius. We hope to give you truly inspirational new worlds to play in, with really beautiful high quality product, fantastic game design and great value for money.
I hope you’ll explore one of our worlds and discover the same passion for adventure!
