The Courtauldian The Courtauldian is the student-run publication of the Courtauld Institute of Art. The Courtauldian is the student-run paper of the Courtauld Institute of Art.

Published by students of the Courtauld, each issue covers news, current affairs, art & design, music & film, fashion, literature, the activities of the Students' Union and more. Founded in 2012 by undergraduate student Hannah Zafiropoulos, each issue attracts contributions from alumni, staff, and students at all levels of study from BA1 to PhD. The paper has became a much-loved fixture of Courtauld life and each new issue is now eagerly anticipated.

Following the release of Issue 34, Desire Path, in December, we’re excited to announce this year’s mid-term issue, a collaboration with reflecting on RE:VISION, which went on display this September.

Launch party snaps! Thank you to everyone for coming down and selling out the Desire Path launch at on Tuesday! Thank you to and for playing, and a massive thank you to everyone who contributed to the issue for making it as wonderful as it is.

We’ve completely ran out of copies in the common room, but there are a couple left in the group study room and down at reception if you haven’t managed to grab one yet. We can’t make wait to start things up again for the next print issue, but for now you can keep up to date with us on our website, where we’ll be regularly uploading new pieces as well as highlighting articles from Desire Path.

Issue 34 is fresh off the printing press, and we’re excited to show off its cover! Desire Path’s cover was designed by our very own

The first copies will be distributed at our launch party at this Tuesday. We are completely sold out but there is a waitlist at the link in our bio so keep an eye out on any last minute returns. See you there!

The Courtauldian is excited to invite you to a night of live music on December 2nd celebrating the release of its 34th issue: Desire Path. Tickets are £3 (including a free copy of Issue 34) at the link on our bio.

Join us at the iconic in Kentish Town (just 20 minutes away from Vernon Square), whose stage and studio have hosted the likes of Nia Archives, Rihanna, The Specials. On the bill are:

: Atmospheric, ethereal regulars of South London’s ‘Windmill scene’. Have supported Geordie Greep.

: London based ‘Art Grunge’ four piece. Courtauldian nepo babies.

: Brand new proggy five piece with a slight hyperpop penchant. This will be their second ever live performance.

We can’t wait to see you there! And keep an eye out for our cover reveal at some point in the next few weeks.

[At capacity/sold out] We’re excited to invite you to a private tour of the Warhol Kennedy residence at 190 The Strand this Thursday!

The Warhol Kennedy residence is a luxury art flat on the Strand. It is home to a large collection of mostly unseen photographs of Andy Warhol and Robert Indiana. Many of these photographs had only been shown at private auction until their display at the residence. The collection also includes original Banksy and Paul Smith artworks.

The tour will be undertaken by Neil Bookatz, a prolific collector of memorabilia and owner of the photography collection at 190 The Strand.

We’re now at capacity for this tour, but you can join our waiting list by emailing us. We look forward to seeing you there!

We’re happy to announce our first social of the year: an open jazz jam at Vernon Square!

The Courtauldian’s lead (and only) mixologist will be making a limited batch of free cocktails (on the menu so far are Espresso Martinis, White Russians, and Cosmopolitans) so get down early to enjoy these.

On house band duty is the incredible and his friends. Open jam runs from 18:30 till 8. The jam is open to all instruments and all levels. Please your own instrument (except keys and drums).

Free tickets are available through FIXR, these are not mandatory but help us get an idea of attendance. The link is available through our story.
