Jamie Foxx "was afraid for himself" constantly making Miami Vice, due to Michael Mann's insistence on doing it all for real: flying planes, shooting in Florida through Hurricane Katrina, and filming in areas "even the police avoid", including one location in the Dominican Republic where shots were fired on set.
