50 Years at the heart of music.

Episode 5 of Dean St. Stories is now live, and this month we're joined by music manager, entrepreneur and industry veteran Steven Budd .producers.

From roadieing for Motörhead at 16 and experiencing the birth of punk first-hand, to launching a record label, managing artists and producers, working with Tony Visconti and bringing Arthur Baker to Dean Street, Steven has quite a few stories to tell.

We talk about the people, places and moments that shaped his career, how the industry has changed and why, after five decades, his advice to the next generation comes down to one thing: collaborate.

In memory of Eddie Veale

We're deeply saddened by the loss of Eddie Veale, a true pioneer of studio design and a man whose work quietly shaped the sound of British music for over fifty years and someone we proudly called our friend.

Eddie built John Lennon's home studio at Tittenhurst Park in 1969 the first of its kind in the UK where Lennon went on to record Imagine. From there, his reputation as "the man to call" for a studio build only grew. George Harrison at Friar Park, and a client list reading like a who's who of British music.

He was also the man behind the three studios that mean everything to me and Mum, Hook End, Wheeler End, and of course Dean Street Studios. Every room he built carried the same care, the same understated genius for acoustics, and the same generosity of spirit and Eddie brilliance!!

Eddie wasn't just a brilliant acoustician, he was a lovely, warm, endlessly patient man who made everyone around him feel like part of the story he was building. Our thoughts are with Eloise, Debs and the rest of his family and everyone who had the privilege of working with him.

Rest well, Eddie. The rooms you built will keep making music for a very long time to come and are your amazing legacy. 💔
