In the 1910s, serial electric cars already traveled 100-160 km on one charge. And they had heavy lead-acid batteries, and in some cases some exotic stuff, like an iron-nickel battery. Long-distance tests were also conducted back then. For example, more than a hundred years ago, one Detroit Electric ran 340.1 km on a charge. But modern mid-priced “electric trains” travel about the same. Is there really no progress?

Detroit Electric Model 42 Clear Vision Brougham 1912. Power - 3.4 kW. Not sure if it was the one that traveled 340 km, but something similar.
