Did the Qur'an mention ant communication more than 1,400 years before modern science understood it?
In Surah An-Naml (27:18), the Qur'an describes an ant warning its colony about the approaching army of Prophet Sulaiman (AS):
"O ants, enter your dwellings lest Solomon and his soldiers crush you while they perceive not."
Today, scientists have discovered that ants communicate through complex systems including pheromones, vibrations, tactile signals, and sound-producing behaviors. These remarkable communication networks allow ant colonies to share information, warn of danger, and coordinate their activities with extraordinary precision.
For believers, this verse is a powerful reminder of Allah's infinite knowledge and the signs He placed throughout creation. Every creature, no matter how small, reflects the wisdom and perfection of its Creator.
