The world could use a little more kindness!

Peter Mutabazi, a 51‑year‑old author and foster dad originally from Uganda, endured a childhood marked by extreme poverty. He fled home, survived years on the streets of Kampala, and was eventually helped by a compassionate stranger who encouraged him to pursue education. With that support, he earned a scholarship to the U.S., later becoming a licensed foster parent, driven by the desire to extend to children what he once wished he'd had.

After initially feeling overwhelmed by the emotional toll of fostering multiple children, Mutabazi considered taking a break. But just days later, a social worker called to place 11‑year‑old Anthony in his home. Within twenty minutes, Anthony asked to call him “dad”, a moment that forever changed their relationship. When Anthony shared that his previous adoptive parents had dropped him off at a hospital without explanation, Mutabazi immediately voided the original arrangement and began the process to adopt him.

Since adopting Anthony, Mutabazi has fostered over 40 more children and legally adopted two siblings, Luke and Isabella, who initially came for a short stay but have since been part of the family for four years. With over a million followers on TikTok and Instagram as , he shares his story to uplift foster youth, raise funds, and even redesign rooms for children who have experienced multiple home moves. His mission remains focused: to give every child he fosters a sense of being seen, valued, and truly at home.
