Reinvantage

Reinvantage At Reinvantage, we help people and organisations stay ahead, shape what comes next, and know when to move before the ground shifts beneath them. Neither do we.

We don’t just help them manage disruption—we make them fluent in it. We help them reinvent. For us, reinvention isn’t just something we advise on—it’s something we’ve lived. For years, as Emerging Europe, we were a trusted voice on business intelligence, investment, and thought leadership across the region. We worked with global firms, fast-growing businesses, international institutions and govern

ments to position, connect, and inform. But the world moves fast. We realised that the challenges we help clients solve—uncertainty, disruption, the need to stay ahead—aren’t just regional. They are global. That’s why we have become Reinvantage. Emerging Europe was about a place. Reinvantage is about a mindset. Reinvantage isn’t a departure from our past—it’s a step forward. We’re still the same experts in strategy, influence, intelligence, and positioning. But today, our focus isn’t just on one region. It’s about helping people and organisations across geographies become future-ready—on their terms, before disruption forces them. The world doesn’t stand still.

We talk about reinvention like it's a choice.

What does reinvention look like when war makes the decision for you?

Our Andrew Wrobel wrote Ordinarily Unusual: The Quiet Reinvention of Ukrainian Women to document the untold - becoming stories, not survival stories.

We meet women who were forced to make impossible choices and build new lives out of fractured ones.

Without a plan.

Without time.

Without safety.

highlights 50 stories of business owners, mothers, students, teachers, women who adapted, led, protected, and rebuilt under fire.

This book is about stories that demand action.

25% of proceeds will go directly to UNITED24 to fund Ukraine's recovery.

The war isn't over. But neither are these women's stories.

Mass tourism promises joy, but often leaves damage. When places become products, communities lose control.

From Bali to Barcelona, the cost of unchecked tourism is mounting: locals pushed out, ecosystems under pressure, and towns reshaped for visitors, not residents.

This isn’t a planning glitch.

It’s a broken model built on headcounts, not health.

It's about volume over value.

What if destinations stopped being passive scenery and became active partners?

The future of tourism isn’t just fewer tourists. It’s smarter ones - tourists that serve the places they touch.

👉 Our Head of Insights and Analysis, Craig Turp-Balazs, explores what a new tourism model could look like – and asks the question every destination should: Who really benefits?

𝐈𝐭’𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥.

Regionalism isn’t a compromise. It’s a competitive edge.
Decisions made closer to citizens.
Local identities amplified, not erased.
Prosperity built across old borders—not behind them.

Look around: Catalonia, Bavaria, Lombardy.
Places where cultural pride fuels economic openness.
Where cross-border corridors don’t dilute identity—they strengthen it.

🇪🇺 EU tools like Interreg have paved the road.
But deeper autonomy? That could build entirely new cities on it.

💡The real shift?
Power drifting from distant capitals to places people actually call home.

A “Europe of the Regions” isn’t just more democratic.
It’s more resilient. More pragmatic. And—quietly—revolutionary.

🔹 From a reinvention perspective, it’s not about whether regionalism matters. It’s about how to lead it—before someone else does.

Europe doesn’t need higher walls. It needs a stronger spine.

The immigration debate often gets stuck between two extremes:

𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐛 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦.

Both miss the point.

Europe’s strength has never come from shutting out difference—but from knowing what it stands for. Free speech. Rule of law. Equality before the state.

Not decorations. Foundations.

🇩🇰 Take Denmark: centre-left, socially open, and crystal-clear about its values.

Integration isn’t exclusion. It’s a shared contract—one that welcomes newcomers not to erase themselves, but to join something worth preserving.

Confidence invites. It doesn’t exclude. It sets expectations, then opens the door.

Europe doesn’t get weaker by sharing its values. It gets stronger when it does.

This isn’t just about cost-cutting or convenience. Open source digital infrastructure is reshaping how governments build trust, deliver services, and claim digital sovereignty.

💡 Freely shared code, adaptable to local needs

💡 No vendor lock-ins—just ownership, transparency, and control

💡 Tools to close the digital divide and fight corruption at scale

And the impact? It’s already here.

🇮🇳 India’s UPI processes 83+ billion transactions a year—bringing millions into the formal economy

🇪🇪 Estonia’s X-Road powers digital services in over 20 countries

🇺🇦 Ukraine’s ProZorro made procurement transparent, efficient—and replicable

The infrastructure to transform is already out there. The real question is: who will lead the next wave?

Dacia didn’t just rebrand—it reinvented.

Once dismissed as a holdover from the planned economy, Dacia was known for clunky models, long waits, and little charm. But reinvention doesn’t start with a facelift. It starts with brutal clarity.

With Renault's backing, Dacia stopped trying to be something it wasn’t. No luxury dreams. No endless features. Just a deep understanding of what really matters to its customers.

They doubled down on their true edge:

🔹 Practical, not pretentious

🔹 Designed for real roads, not showroom floors

🔹 Built for people who value function over frills

And it worked. The Sandero now leads Europe’s sales charts—not because it dazzles, but because it delivers.

This is reinvention done right: not a departure from who you are, but a return to what makes you essential.

We’ve unpacked Dacia’s journey in a fresh piece. Link in comments.

🚶‍♀️ Wouldn’t we all be freer if we could ?

The idea behind the 15-minute city is simple: reshape urban life so people can access everything they need—work, healthcare, education, culture—within a short walk or bike ride from home.

It’s not a lockdown. It’s liberation from one.

Yet this principle has become a flashpoint for conspiracy theories, branded as authoritarian overreach or “urban incarceration.” The irony? It’s one of the most human-centred ideas modern cities have to offer.

🌿 In Paris, the model is already shifting how residents live—cutting pollution, increasing participation, reclaiming public space.

🚲 In Barcelona, the superblocks are delivering €1.7 billion in public health and environmental benefits.

But perhaps the most revealing insight?

The real restriction on freedom isn't a walkable city. It's a car-dependent life.

🔍 Read our deep dive on why the 15-minute city is not only misunderstood—but more urgent than ever:
