VRSportTV F2V - It's confirmed - all AC roads lead to Naples, Italy. Starting Spring 2027, the teams (whoever they maybe) need to gear up before taking on New Zealand (without 'Pistol' Pete). Be assured, there is going to be plenty of action before the foils engage and the AC Show gets underway.

AC38 NEWS - Pete Furling is no longer helming Emirates Team New Zealand for the AC38.
---------------
Statement from Emirates Team New Zealand:

Emirates Team New Zealand and Peter Burling have today confirmed that they have agreed to part ways ahead of the 38th America’s Cup.

Emirates Team New Zealand CEO Grant Dalton said: “Pete has been a central figure who has grown incredibly within Emirates Team New Zealand since he joined 10 years ago.
We can all look back with great pride on what has been achieved, having enjoyed unprecedented success as a team with Pete at the helm,” continued Dalton.

“Winning the America’s Cup three times in a row was uncharted territory, but what has enabled winning in the past does not always equate to winning in the future, especially in much tighter America’s Cup cycles which require a dedicated and new approach for continued success”.

Peter Burling said: “While I won’t be continuing with Emirates Team New Zealand for the 38th America’s Cup, I want to take a moment to reflect on an amazing journey. Over the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of being part of something truly special - from intense battles to unforgettable victories, and friendships that extend well beyond sailing. I’m immensely proud of everything we’ve achieved together and grateful to everyone who has been part of this chapter”.

Some of his achievements: Three-time winning helmsman of the America's Cup for Emirates Team New Zealand in 2017, 2021, and 2024, and a three-time Olympic medalist in the 49er class, of which 2016 was a gold medal together with Blair Tuke.

ETNZ must have someone in mind but we are scratching our heads....

SailGP Rio (May 3-4) News - SailGP has cancelled next month’s Rio Sail Grand Prix after finding a potential defect in some wings from across the F50 fleet. The issue was discovered following extensive testing and analysis after the collapse of the Australia SailGP Team’s wing last month in San Francisco.

The cancellation ensures a full investigation and all necessary repairs can take place to get the 12 national teams back on the start line for New York in June and ahead of the rest of the season.
