It doesnโt matter who pardoned him. It is wrong and must be corrected!
UPDATE ON FAITH MUSONDA
Following the post I shared yesterday, I received a call from a Social Welfare Officer (whose name I'm withholding for confidentiality purposes) who has taken up the case. They will likely start the process of helping Faith today or on Monday.
However, I've noticed that politicians are trying to use this issue for their own agendas, which dilutes the essence of the matter. To clarify, the Presidential pardon was granted in 2020 to the perpetrator of defilement, meaning the President then pardoned the perpetrator.
The single mother discovered the pardon after meeting the perpetrator at the market and has since been fighting for justice for her child. She visited many places, including the office of the Home Affairs Minister, Hon. J. Mwiimbu, who helped her with K200 and a recommendation letter to the Minister of Community Development (the mother said and indded showed me the documents) I wish i can upload the documents the lady has but Ithink its not necessary.
Unfortunately, since November 2, 2022, the mother hasn't received a positive response from Social Welfare and Community Development. She's continued to struggle with her child's health issues and is now hopeful that help will be provided.
Considering this development, we remain hopeful that Social Welfare will do a good job in securing the child's future just like they have always been doing. I pray that justice will be pursued, and if possible, I'd like to ask the President to revisit the pardon decision made by his predecessor, given the many young children being abused.
I have seen the write up by Zambia Correctional Service and I wish I can say more to it but God in heaven will always find a way for his people .
I encourage politicians to stop using situations for their own agendas and spreading lies. We thank God for this development, and I'll continue to follow up on this issue.
I'll stand with this young girl just as I would with my own siblings, even if it costs me my life.
God bless you all
