The first werewolf movie was the 1913 silent film The Werewolf, directed by Henry MacRae, which told the story of a Navajo woman who could transform into a wolf. While a lost film, with no copies surviving today, it holds the distinction of being the earliest known cinematic depiction of a werewolf.
