Last week we had the pleasure of attending the MK Lit Fest Publishing Day 2026 for emerging writers. ✍️

Along with exciting discussions between aspiring authors and publishing experts, the day included a fascinating tour of the IngramSpark Self-Publishing facility and two masterclasses - one delivered by our Partnerships Director Chris Wold who talked about how to understand and navigate different publishing routes.

We had a great day, thanks to Flora, John and the team for inviting us!

⚽️ It’s publication day for Winning with the Invisible Laws of Chance by football statistician, Neil Lanham.

His behind-the-scenes memoir reveals the story of a football performance analyst who changed the game after meticulously analysing thousands of matches’ worth of data. It includes dressing room tales from some of football’s biggest names like Dave Bassett, Graham Taylor and Jack Charlton.

🎉⚽️ This has been a hugely exciting project to work on in collaboration with and (and it’s just the beginning).

Match Day Mix-Up! is out now and follows the Thing family as they go to watch Manchester United vs. Brighton & Hove Albion FC on a match day. The debut title in the The Things Football Adventures series, Lioness wrote the foreword and narrates the online version.

We’ve loved working on this book which has a unique flip-cover format so that kids can pick their team before meeting in the middle. With the new season underway, British Gas is encouraging families to take their first step into women’s football by heading to their local club and experiencing a match day for themselves.

Chris will be leading a masterclass on accessing the publishing industry as a writer, exploring the different routes available to authors and how to decide which path is right for you and your book.

After two hugely popular Getting Published events for emerging writers in 2023 and 2024, we're thrilled to bring you Publishing Day 2026 on Tuesday 8 September from 10am to 4pm, with masterclasses on routes into publishing, working with small presses, marketing for authors, using metadata for promotion and distribution, and more.

Some of the Whitefox team picnicking in Highbury Fields after work last Weds. 🥂. Alex introduced us to Kubb, aka ‘Viking Chess’, which confirmed that we’re all as competitive as we thought we were!

It was a poignant summer gathering this year as we’re moving offices soon and will be leaving lovely Highbury behind. This corner of London has been a very happy home for the Whitefox team for the last 7 years (Shoreditch before that) and the park has been our lunchbreak backdrop.

BUT we’re on the move because the business is growing and it’s a hugely exciting time for us. 👀 Watch this space for more on our brilliant new London location…
