Australian start-up HyTerra has discovered hydrogen concentrations of up to 83% at the latest exploratory well at its Nemaha project in the US state of Kansas.

The McCoy 1 well was drilled to a depth of 1,695 metres, which Kallanish understands is the deepest well HyTerra has drilled so far. Mud gas samples from the well confirmed concentrations of up to 83% hydrogen and up to 5% helium, the company said Monday.
