Once a luxury, now an everyday habit: global salmon consumption has tripled since 1980.
Around 70% of all salmon eaten today is farmed … that’s 2.5 million tonnes a year.
But behind the boom is a hidden cost: overcrowded cages, chemical treatments, and stressed ecosystems.
And yet… even in London, many still assume “salmon = wild.”
