Social isoaltion can lead to depression which shrinks the brains ability to process emotions which leads to greater depression. Video games are addictive, companies look for ways to capitalise on that financially, on the other hand they are a magic bullet to both isolation and the brain damage associated with depression. Work is insentivised money and on the one hand can be rewarding and beneficial to mental health and brain health but on the other can be damaging. Plus, the most in demand skill for employers in 2026 is good people skills and the ability to learn new skills.
