Amar Desh is not merely a newspaper, it represents the identity of nearly 160 million inhabitants Bengali Muslims in the easternmost part of the Ganges delta, presently known as independent Bangladesh. Buddhism, the once dominant religion in this part of the delta suffered extinction because of their failure to challenge the external threat effectively and intellectually. বাংলাদেশের অধিকারহারা নিপীড়িত মানুষের কণ্ঠস্বর হয়ে যে পত্রিকাটি প্রতিদিন বস্তুনিষ্ঠ সংবাদ নিয়ে মানুষের দোরগোড়ায় পৌঁছে যেত, সেই ‘দৈনিক আমার দেশ’ দীর্ঘদিন আওয়ামী ফ্যাসিবাদের রোষানলে পড়ে বন্ধ রয়েছে। বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতা সার্বভৌমত্বকে বিকিয়ে দিয়ে দিল্লীর গোলামীকে সাদরে গ্রহণ করবার পথকে মসৃণ করতেই ‘দৈনিক আমার দেশ’কে সন্ত্রাসী কায়দায় পুলিশ দিয়ে বন্ধ করে দেয়া হয়। পত্রিকা বন্ধ করেই ক্ষান্ত হয়নি আওয়ামী ফ্যাসিস্ট গোষ্ঠী, গ্রেফতার করা হয় এর সম্মানিত সম্পাদক জনাব মাহমুদুর রহমানকে। বছরের পর বছর জেলে রেখে ক্রমাগত মৃত্যুর দিকে ঠেলে দিতে চেয়েছিলো ফ্যাসিস্ট শেখ হাসিনা।

সর্বশেষ কুষ্টিয়ার আদালত পাড়ায় মিথ্যা মামলায় হাজিরা দিতে গেলে আওয়ামী সন্ত্রাসী বাহিনী শ্রদ্ধেয় সম্পাদক জনাব মাহমুদুর রহমানকে হত্যার উদ্দেশ্যে তাঁর উপর ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়ে। রক্তাক্ত মাহমুদুর রহমানকে দেখে কোটি হৃদয়ের কান্না আল্লাহর আরশ পর্যন্ত পৌঁছলেও নগ্ন উল্লাসে মেতে উঠে সেদিন আওয়ামী ফ্যাসিস্ট গোষ্ঠী। আল্লাহ তায়ালার অশেষ কৃপায় সেদিন শ্রদ্ধেয় সম্পাদক জনাব মাহমুদুর রহমান বেঁচে যান।

অধিকারহারা বঞ্চিত মানুষের দাবীর প্রেক্ষিতে ‘আমার দেশ ইউকে’ আজ আবারও আপনার দোরগোড়ায়। কাগজের মলাটে নয় বরং অনলাইন মাধ্যমে। যদিও আওয়ামী ফ্যাসিবাদী শেখ হাসিনা ১২ ঘণ্টাও সহ্য করতে পারেনি। ‘আমার দেশ ইউকে’ অনলাইনে প্রকাশিত হওয়ার ১২ ঘণ্টার মধ্যেই বাংলাদেশে এর এক্সেস বন্ধ করে দেয়া হয়।

আমরা বলেছি ‘দৈনিক আমার দেশ’ নিছক কোনো পত্রিকা নয় বরং এটি ‘বিপ্লবের মুখপত্র’। ফ্যাসিবাদী আওয়ামী দখলদার কর্তৃক স্বাধীনতা সার্বভৌমত্বকে বিকিয়ে দিয়ে সাম্রাজ্যবাদী ভারতের দাসত্বকে মেনে নেয়ার বিরুদ্ধেই ‘আমার দেশ’ এর অবস্থান। বাঙালী মুসলমানের তাহজিব-তমদ্দুনকে মুছে দিয়ে হিন্দুত্ববাদী সংস্কৃতিকে নব্বই ভাগ মুসলমানের উপর চাপিয়ে দেয়ার বিরুদ্ধে ‘আমার দেশ’ এর অবস্থান। মানুষকে তার মৌলিক অধিকার থেকে বঞ্চিত করে অবৈধ ক্ষমতাসীনদের দেশে-বিদেশে সম্পদের পাহাড় গড়ার বিরুদ্ধে ‘আমার দেশ’ এর অবস্থান।
