An AI Training Business Asked Me This Week: “What Platform Should I Build My AI Course on?
An AI and automation training business asked me this week:
“What Platform Should I Build My AI Course on?”
Here’s what I told them:
Don't choose the platform first. Choose the learning experience and business model first.
Your course platform should make it easy for students to learn, navigate lessons, complete activities, receive support, and ultimately achieve the transformation you are promising.
If you're selling AI or automation training, you also need a system that can support your content as the technology evolves.
What should you consider before choosing an LMS?
First, think about how your students will learn.
Will you offer video lessons, written tutorials, quizzes, assignments, certificates, downloadable resources, live sessions, or a combination of these?
The answer affects the type of LMS you need.
For example, LearnWorlds can be useful when you want a structured online academy with courses, assessments, learner engagement features, certificates, and a professional learning environment.
Depending on the project, I may also consider platforms such as Kajabi, Thinkific, Passion.io, Teachable, Podia, or EzyCourse.
The right choice depends on the business.
What does an AI training business actually need?
An AI course isn't just a collection of videos.
Your students may need a course website, structured curriculum, practical assignments, downloadable resources, community access, email automation, payment processing, certificates, and a smooth onboarding experience.
You may also need automation behind the scenes.
For example, Make, Zapier, or n8n can connect different parts of your business so that repetitive processes don't have to be handled manually.
AI tools can also support course production.
Depending on the project, tools such as ChatGPT, Synthesia, and HeyGen can help with content development, training videos, scripts, and other production workflows.
Do you need to build everything from scratch?
Usually, no.
One of the biggest mistakes I see businesses make is assuming that a professional digital learning system needs to be complicated.
It doesn't.
The goal is to create the simplest system that can deliver the required experience effectively.
That could mean using an LMS for the course, a no-code platform such as Softr for a custom portal, Airtable for structured data, and Make for automation.
Or it could mean using one platform for most of the experience.
The right answer depends on your requirements.
What can an AI training business gain from the right setup?
A well-designed system can help you:
Launch courses faster.
Give learners a better experience.
Reduce repetitive administrative work.
Automate onboarding and communication.
Organize courses and learning materials.
Create a professional digital presence.
Scale your training without manually managing every learner.
Turn your expertise into a repeatable digital product.
This is especially important in AI training because the content itself can change quickly as new tools and workflows emerge.
Your technology should make updating and managing that learning experience easier—not harder.
The question I would ask instead
Instead of asking:
“Which LMS should I use?”
Ask:
“What does my audience need to learn, how should they experience it, and what digital system will help me deliver that effectively?”
That's the approach I take.
