APOLLO 1 documentary screenings and more...

Director Mark Craig : Stopwatch Productions is in Roger Chaffee's hometown of Grand Rapids this week, spreading the word about the film on local media and attending a screening + Q&A this evening at the Public Museum.

A SPECIAL MESSAGE FOR THE CREW OF ARTEMIS II

Thirteen years ago, a small film crew and I sat across the table from Gene Cernan, commander of the last Apollo mission to the Moon in 1972.

We were approaching the end of filming for The Last Man on the Moon documentary, and pondering how long it would be before humans would venture back there.

Gene was pragmatic enough to know he might not be around when it happened - and so before we wrapped, there was one last question to ask him:

"Do you have a personal message for the next crew who will one day journey back to the Moon?"

His reply is on the video clip below - which the BBC are going to play on the 6 o’clock news tonight.

Please share. We need some positive news at the moment.

Those of us who were privileged to know him wish he was here today to see the launch of Artemis II and send the crew on their way...

We know he's with us in spirit.

It's a free event, but you do need to register your attendance to guarantee a seat.

Our Director of Photography Dominic Gill will be there in person for a Q&A session after the screening, and Directoir / Producer Mark Craig will be joining via a video link.

We are honored that our film has been selected to be part of the inaugural Hindsight Film Festival - America's first major film festival for historical documentaries - endorsed by none other than legendary filmmaker Ken Burns.

The good news is that APOLLO 1 will be available to view wherever you are - via the Hindsight Virtual Festival site only - for one week, starting this Sunday March 8th thru March 15th.

Last weekend saw another movie theatre screening event for APOLLO 1 - this time in Cologne, Germany, as part of the Stranger Than Fiction Film Festival.

We are happy to report that our film was well-received by a full house that included a number of prominent broadcasting personnel, and several of our production team from co-producing company 7T1 Films.

A Q&A followed, involving Director Mark Craig, Producer Ansgar Pohle, Editor Jorg Levsen, and ZDF/ARTE commissioning editor Linde Dehner.
