READING! March got me enjoying these wonderful books. Thanks to these brilliant novelists for so much thought-provoking writing.
1. Elizabeth Strout observes human relationships through characters who become like friends to the reader in her wonderful series of novels about Lucy Barton, Bob Burgess and Olive Kitteridge.
2. Laurie Colwin wrote this charming 1970s novel about dating and marriage which reminded me of S*x and the City.
3. Holly Bourne's novel is about the tensions that arise when friends get pregnant, or can't.
4. Barbara Kingsolver's written an agonising, awe-inspiring novel of a boy growing up fighting against the odds in Appalachia that is inspired by David Copperfield. It's so good it won both the Women's Prize for fiction and the Pulitzer Prize. .kingsolver
5. Mark Sullivan recounts the true story of Pino Lella, a young man recruited as a spy when he's employed to drive a N**i bigwig in Italy in WW2. Highly recommended if you want to find out more about Italy's experience towards the end of the war.
