The figure we now recognize as Satan was not always the cosmic enemy of God. In the earliest traditions, the story is far more complicated.
This documentary explores the transformation of Satan from the accuser in the Book of Job into the tempter, adversary, and cosmic enemy of later religious imagination.
We begin with Job, where “the Satan” appears as an accuser and challenger. We then enter the increasingly complex world of angels, demons, fallen beings, temptation, and spiritual conflict before arriving at the Christian Devil.
