Poem written and performed for launch of .dorsey.73 Three Legged Dog poems

Intention of poem to provide a impactful narrative engaging every day realism with surrealism and the absurd, drawing on real life, real observations and real narcissists.

With thanks for request,

Poem for

“Bloody Line Drawing”

i thought she was okay
and then it came.
came from nowhere

one day good and the next, not
moments of pained crying
tears of sadness. sobs of anguish

just here and there you see the flicker of blood
one on the knee
one on the arm

she wasn’t okay.
she carved several lines
several cuts into her body

parallel steps
the train lines walking down her body
and as the days progressed

her fragility walked
her body reawoke
bare flesh healing in the sunshine
