🗳️ Voting has now opened 🗳️ cast your vote for Craig Wood Sails to win the inspiration award in the armed forces community with the Soldiering On Awards for his incredible world record breaking sail across the Pacific Ocean.

And if you haven’t yet read part one of his journey around the world - you can buy his book, written with journalist Amy Willis, over on the Bonito Books website or Amazon.

Members of the public can have their say in The Armed Forces Community Awards at Soldiering On by voting in two categories.

THIS ONE IS YOURS.

This Wednesday, the public vote opens for the Inspiration Award, proudly supported by NatWest.

It is one of only two AWARDS decided by you, the public.

Over the past four years, you have chosen Mark Ormrod MBE, Hari Budha Magar MBE FRGS, Mark Harding and Gina Atkinson.

Four extraordinary people. Four remarkable stories. Four winners voted for by you over the last four years.

Now it is time to do it again and vote for who will it be your choice for 2026.

Our judges have selected this year’s exceptional finalists and, from Wednesday, the decision passes to you.

Wherever you are in the UK, across the Armed Forces community or anywhere in the world, this is your opportunity to get involved in the Armed Forces Community Awards and help decide who will follow in the footsteps of some truly inspirational people.

Read their stories.

Choose the person who inspires you.

Cast your vote.

Share it far and wide.

Voting opens this Wednesday.

Who will you choose?

Congrats Craig Wood! 🏆⛵️

The Blesma Member has been named the winner of the Seamaster Award, in recognition of his epic solo sail across the Pacific.

At just 18, he was serving as a British Army rifleman in Afghanistan when he was blown up by a roadside bomb, losing both legs and his arm.

What followed was years of grit, rehab, and rebuilding — and then Craig went and did the unthinkable: becoming the first triple amputee to sail solo, non-stop and unsupported across the Pacific.

From all of us at Blesma: congratulations, Craig!
