🎸 Remember this? Did you know that Blur’s “Song 2” was never meant to become their biggest anthem?

Released in 1997, Song 2 started as a tongue-in-cheek experiment. The band reportedly thought its loud, explosive sound was so over-the-top that it would surprise their record label—but it became one of the most recognizable rock songs of the ’90s instead.

A few fun facts:

The title “Song 2” was originally just a working title because it was the second track on the album.

The music video perfectly captured late-’90s Britpop style—track jackets, graphic tees, loose-fitting jeans, trainers, and effortless indie attitude. That casual, understated look became just as memorable as the song itself.

Inspired by the visceral work of Lynda Benglis, the collection turned couture into a study of tension: softness against structure, heritage against disruption, beauty against something slightly unsettling. ✨
