The disaster struck on 26 August, when a huge section of glacier broke away high in the Himalayas and plunged around 7,000ft down the mountainside into a river valley below....

🚨 Tensions rise in Ceuta

Residents in Spain’s North African enclave of Ceuta dismantled a makeshift migrant camp on a beach, tearing down tents and throwing belongings into the sea.

The confrontation comes after a major crossing from Morocco in July that sharply increased pressure on the enclave. Migrants at the scene also described difficult conditions, including shortages of food and water.

Authorities say thousands of migrants remain in Ceuta as tensions continue between local residents, migrants and officials.
