We’ve grown up hearing that perfume and long days at the beach or pool don’t mix. The reason is simple: alcohol-based fragrances can increase the risk of skin irritation or pigmentation when exposed to the sun. It’s one of those pieces of advice passed down through generations, I now repeat it to my daughters with the same conviction my grandmother once had, and dermatologists continue to support it.

Summer brings another challenge for fragrance lovers. As temperatures rise, perfume evaporates more quickly from the skin. According to fragrance experts, warmer skin can cause scent notes to disappear faster, making fragrances last less time or smell different than they do during cooler months. For that reason, finding alternative ways to stay fresh and fragrant without applying perfume directly to the skin can be a smart, and surprisingly elegant, solution.

بسیاری از ما از کودکی این توصیه را شنیده‌ایم که برای رفتن به ساحل یا استخر نباید از عطر استفاده کرد. دلیلش هم روشن است؛ عطرهای حاوی الکل در تماس با نور خورشید می‌توانند احتمال تحریک پوست یا ایجاد لک را افزایش دهند. این توصیه سال‌هاست از نسلی به نسل دیگر منتقل شده است؛ توصیه‌ای که امروز هم بسیاری از ما آن را با همان اطمینانی که از بزرگ‌ترها شنیده‌ایم تکرار می‌کنیم و متخصصان پوست نیز آن را تأیید می‌کنند.

اما تابستان چالش دیگری هم برای علاقه‌مندان به عطر دارد. با افزایش دمای پوست، مولکول‌های رایحه سریع‌تر تبخیر می‌شوند و به همین دلیل عطرها در روزهای گرم معمولاً ماندگاری کمتری دارند یا حتی بوی متفاوتی پیدا می‌کنند. به همین خاطر، پیدا کردن راه‌های دیگری برای خوش‌بو ماندن بدون استفاده مستقیم از عطر روی پوست، می‌تواند انتخابی هوشمندانه و حتی ظریف‌تر برای فصل تابستان باشد.

For centuries, Iranian architecture has transformed geometry into poetry. Across mosques, palaces, caravanserais, and historic homes, patterns unfold with remarkable precision, where every arch, dome, and courtyard contributes to a carefully orchestrated whole.

Intricate muqarnas soften the boundaries between structure and space, while glazed tiles, carved brickwork, and mirrored surfaces capture and reflect light in ever-changing ways.

معماری ایرانی قرن‌هاست که هندسه را به شعر تبدیل کرده است. در مساجد، کاخ‌ها، کاروانسراها و خانه‌های تاریخی، نقش‌ها و الگوها با دقتی چشمگیر در کنار یکدیگر قرار می‌گیرند؛ جایی که هر گنبد، طاق و حیاط بخشی از یک ترکیب هماهنگ و اندیشیده‌شده است.

مقرنس‌ها مرز میان سازه و فضا را نرم می‌کنند و کاشی‌های لعاب‌دار، آجرکاری‌های ظریف و سطوح آینه‌کاری‌شده، نور را به عنصری زنده در معماری تبدیل می‌کنند.

The opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup unfolded in spectacular fashion. The first of three official ceremonies took place at the legendary Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, marking the beginning of the first World Cup in history to be hosted across three countries, the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

In “A Biographical Wardrobe”, garments become living archives of memory, friendship, loss, and time. A cardigan from her father, a kilt still carrying traces of a beloved dog, a shared sweatshirt once worn by Derek Jarman, each piece holds a life beyond the body that wore it.

New York-based Iranian designer Gabriel Hendifar has transformed a 140-square-metre loft into a layered and deeply personal living environment shaped by textiles, materiality, and memory. Two inherited Iranian tapestries became the emotional foundation of the space, connecting the apartment’s earthy palette to generations of family history.

Located in a former industrial building from the 1970s, the loft reflects a dialogue between nostalgia and reinvention. Drawing from his experience as the son of Iranian immigrants, Hendifar has created a home where heritage, architecture, and contemporary living converge, turning memory into a tangible design language.

طراح ایرانی ساکن نیویورک، یک لافت ۱۴۰ متری را با سکوهای پوشیده از فرش، متریال‌های لایه‌لایه و منسوجات غنی طراحی کرده است؛ فضایی که هم حال‌وهوایی سینمایی دارد و هم عمیقاً درون‌نگر و شخصی به نظر می‌رسد.

در این خانه، دو فرشینه ایرانی که به‌عنوان هدیه خانه جدید از سوی دخترخاله‌اش به او داده شده بودند، به یکی از مهم‌ترین عناصر احساسی و بصری فضا تبدیل شدند. این آثار که نسل به نسل در خانواده منتقل شده‌اند، حس عمیقی از تعلق و آشنایی را در او زنده کردند و به شکلی شگفت‌انگیز با پالت رنگی خاکی و آبی آپارتمان هم‌خوانی داشتند. هندیفار می‌گوید: «این فرشینه‌ها از مادرِ او به او رسیده بودند و پیش از آن نیز متعلق به مادرِ مادرش بودند... انگار پیامی از بُعدی دیگر دریافت می‌کردم، چون پالت رنگی آپارتمان دقیقاً با رنگ‌های این فرشینه‌ها هماهنگ بود؛ حتی در کوچک‌ترین جزئیات.»

هندیفار توضیح می‌دهد: «این ساختمان هنوز گواهی اقامت هنری خود را حفظ کرده است؛ ویژگی‌ای که در شهر نیویورک بسیار نادر محسوب می‌شود.»

این بستر معماری، هویت چندلایه خانه را تقویت می‌کند؛ فضایی که میان گذشته و حال، خاطره و بازآفرینی، در نوسان است. آپارتمان بازتابی از زندگی شخصی هندیفار نیز هست؛ فرزند مهاجران ایرانی که در سال ۱۹۷۹ به ایالات متحده آمدند. نتیجه، فضایی است که در آن خاطره به ماده تبدیل می‌شود و تجربه زیسته به زبان طراحی؛ خانه‌ای که هم ریشه در گذشته دارد و هم
نگاهی روشن به آینده.
