Question: Number of accidents in Zambia are increasing everyday with many people dying. Why can't the President Hakainde Hichilema call for national day of prayers for God to interven in this situation?.

FOUR YEARS, ZERO RESULTS: UPND TOLD OFF OF ABANDONING BAROTSELAND

By Likezo Sakubita - Barotseland Watchdog Reporter

Barotseland’s hopes for meaningful development under the United Party for National Development (UPND) have turned into bitter disappointment, with PF Western Province Chairperson Bright Kufuka accusing President Hakainde Hichilema’s government of delivering “nothing but dust” in four years.

Speaking in a scathing review of UPND’s time in office, Mr. Kufuka said the people of Barotseland had been misled by grand promises that have since evaporated into thin air.

“If they (Western Province) had known Hakainde Hichilema and his team would betray us by doing absolutely nothing for Barotseland, we would never have voted for them,” Mr. Kufuka said.

“Four years, and there is nothing tangible, only one 1x3 classroom block to show for it.”

Mr. Kufuka said he sad to hear stories on social media that the UPND government has even rejected offers from funders willing to build a university and a major hospital in Barotseland, projects that could have transformed the region’s healthcare and education.

He further challenged the UPND government to state publicly what wrongs the people of Barotseland have done to deserve such neglect.

He said that if the government can reveal the reasons, he, as the Western PF provincial chairperson, will kneel down and ask for forgiveness on behalf of the people of Barotseland so that at least one development project can be done before their term ends.

According to Mr. Kufuka, President Hichilema pledged in 2021 to build a university immediately after winning the election. Four years later, there is no sign of construction. Road projects promised during the campaign have been quietly shelved, gathering dust in government drawers.

Comparing UPND’s performance to its predecessor, the Patriotic Front (PF), Mr. Kufuka claimed, “What the PF delivered in less than a year, UPND has failed to deliver in four years. This is proof of their lack of political will for Barotseland.”

He added that it is loud enough that many people are now openly complaining about the UPND’s lack of political will to develop Bulozi, saying this sentiment is shared across villages and towns in the province.

Mr. Kufuka accused the UPND of leaving behind nothing but campaign dust from 2021, with no infrastructure or economic projects to improve livelihoods.

He urged Barotseland residents not to give up, promising that the United Front Opposition if it wins the 2026 elections will prioritise the construction of a modern hospital, new roads, and a university.

“The people of Barotseland have suffered enough empty promises,” Mr. Kufuka declared. “We will bring real development, not political theatre.”

Koswe ADMINS IN TROUBLE FOR ATTACKING SESHEKE MP ROMEO KANG'OMBE AS PEOPLE OF BAROTSELAND RISE

By Barotseland Watchdog Reporter

Barotseland Political and Human Rights Activist Munyinda Munukayumbwa has sent a strong Message of solidarity and support to Hon. Romeo Kang'ombe assuring him of standing with him amidst threats of some selfish individuals from State house who are attacking him through Koswe.

Munyinda Munukayumbwa wrote on his page dubbed Munyinda Munukayumbwa that if State house touches Hon. Romeo Kang'ombe, they have touched the whole Barotseland.

Below is the message from Munyinda Munukayumbwa who is Barotseland Political Activist:

I STAND WITH MY BROTHER, HON. ROMEO KANG’OMBE

When their relatives do wrong, they protect them. They hide their corruption and excuse their crimes. But for my brother, Hon. Romeo Kang’ombe, the only “crime” they can point to is that he works for his people — visiting his constituency, listening to their voices, and serving those who trusted him with leadership.

What is most painful is that some of the loudest attacks against him come from media connected to his own party. They ignore the projects he has supported, the young people he has inspired, and the hope he has brought. They do not celebrate his service. They only wait for a chance to twist a story against him. They ignore his achievements, erase his sacrifices, and bury his good works under a fog of selective storytelling. They lurk in the shadows, waiting for the smallest opening to turn shadows into storms.

But we say this loudly and clearly: When you attack one of us, you attack all of us. We will not be silent while lies and injustice are used against a man who has given so much to his people. We stand with Romeo because Romeo stands with the truth. He stands with the ordinary citizen.

They may have titles, money, and influence. They may believe they can control the media and shape the story. But we are many, we are united, and we will not be moved.

Hon. Kang’ombe is a rare kind of leader; humble yet strong, approachable yet firm, respectful yet fearless in defending his people. His leadership is about service, not self-gain. He is proud of his Barotseland heritage and loves his roots deeply.

While some try to pull him down, we will lift him up. While they plan to destroy him, we will help him rise higher.

To those from Barotseland who choose to fight him, remember: blood is thicker than politics. Political seasons come and go, but our roots remain forever.

They may not value him, but we value him. They may fear his influence but we welcome it. They may work only for themselves, but he works for the people.

If you touch him, you touch us. If you try to silence him, we will speak louder. If you try to remove him, we will rise as one. Because when we defend him, we defend truth, justice, and the dignity of our people.

May the spirit of King Lewanika engulf our brother Romeo. Let him fear not just like King Lewanika.

Long live Romeo! Long live my brother,

UPND YOUTH MUKONDA MUBITA SENDS A POWERFUL MESSAGE TO PRESIDENT HH ON UPND 4TH YEAR COMMEMORATION

As the UPND government celebrates its fourth year in office, we, the people of Western Province, can't help but feel left out. While the rest of the country has seen development and progress, our province remains neglected. The cake hasn't been shared equally, and we're starting to wonder if we're being forgotten.

The Reality on the Ground

We've seen CDF projects popping up everywhere, but when it comes to capital projects that truly transform lives, we're left with nothing. No national stadium to call our own, no university to provide opportunities for our youth, and no advanced hospital to cater to our healthcare needs. It's like we're being treated as second-class citizens.

Our Demands

As you celebrate four years in government, we're appealing to you to consider our demands:
- A Western Province Stadium: a state-of-the-art facility that will promote sports development and provide a venue for national events.
- A University: an institution that will provide opportunities for higher learning and drive economic growth.
- An Advanced Hospital: a modern healthcare facility that will cater to our healthcare needs and provide quality medical care.

A Call to Action

We urge you to take our demands seriously and work towards creating a better future for Western Province. We deserve to be part of the development agenda, and it's time for you to prioritize our needs. Let's work together to build a brighter future for our province.

Happy Birthday, UPND Government

As you celebrate four years in office, we hope you'll take our demands to heart and work towards making Western Province a beneficiary of your government's development initiatives. We can't celebrate with empty hands; we need tangible projects that will transform our lives.

Signed: MUKONDA MUBITA.
