I got so used to people leaving 🪽 that I stopped asking them to stay.
At some point, you learn that not everyone who promises forever is meant to be there forever. Some people come into your life to teach you something, to give you memories, to change you, and then quietly become a chapter you never expected to close.
I used to take every goodbye personally. I used to wonder what I did wrong, what I could have done differently, why the people I cared about the most always seemed to find a reason to walk away. But life has a strange way of teaching you that sometimes people leave not because you weren't enough, but because their part in your story was simply over.
So now, I don't chase.
I don't beg.
I don't force.
I don't hold onto people who have already decided to let go.
If you want to leave, I'll open the door for you. 🚪🪽
It still hurts, of course. I'm human. I still miss people. I still remember conversations, places, songs, late-night talks, inside jokes, and all those little moments that once meant everything.
But I've learned something beautiful about losing people:
Sometimes their absence makes room for your peace.
Sometimes losing someone is how you finally find yourself.
And sometimes the person you thought you couldn't live without becomes the reason you learned how to stand on your own.
I've become comfortable with endings—not because they don't hurt, but because I finally understand that every ending doesn't need an explanation.
Some people are seasons.
Some are lessons.
Some are memories.
And a very few become home. 🤍
So if you're someone who walked away from me, I hope life treats you kindly.
And if you're someone who stayed when it wasn't easy, who checked on me when I disappeared, who understood my silence, who never made me question where I stood with you…
Thank you. ❤️
Because after getting used to people leaving, you start realizing just how precious it is when someone chooses to stay.
I don't need a hundred people around me anymore.
Just a few genuine souls.
A few honest hearts.
A few people whose presence feels like peace.
And if everyone leaves one day, I'll still be okay.
Because I've already survived every goodbye I once thought would destroy me.
Maybe that's what growing up really is—
learning to love people deeply without losing yourself when they leave.
I got so used to people leaving… 🪽
that now, I simply wish them well,
close the door,
and keep walking.
No anger.
No revenge.
No hard feelings.
Just gratitude for what was,
acceptance of what is,
and faith in what comes next. ✨
