Little Dude Films short film, From Mother, With Love, which was directed by Gabi Wood, produced by Ian Beaumont and written by Mark A. C. Brown, is already making its mark in film festivals it’s been entered into this year. To date:

The film was nominated in the Best Script category in this year’s Wolverhampton Film Festival.

Our April News

The Lost Blonde Play: A Rehearsed Reading

Little Dude Media Ltd is hosting a rehearsed reading of our play, The Lost Blonde: The Veronica Lake Story at the Seven Dials Playhouse, Covent Garden, London on Tuesday 22nd April 2025 for representatives of London theatres and investors, producers and production companies.

Participating in the reading will be five established actors: Alanah Bloor, playing the younger Veronica Lake; Susannah Harker, playing the mature Veronica Lake; and Oscar Adams, Oliver Alvin-Wilson and Issy Stewart multi-role-ing the other roles.

Rohan Gotobed is the play’s director; Little Dude Media’s Ian Beaumont is its writer/producer; Croft and Dye Productions are the general managers; and Ellie Wintour is the play’s highly regarded and much in demand set and costume designer. Ellie will display some mood boards and renders of the play’s sets and costumes ahead of the reading, based upon her and the director’s vision for the play.

We hope that the rehearsed reading, which we are also filming, will result in a London theatre staging the play either later this year or in early 2026.

LDM Joins ITC

As we move forward with our plans to put our new play, The Lost Blonde on the London stage, our umbrella company, Little Dude Media Ltd has joined the Independent Theatre Council, known as ITC.

ITC is a membership organisation of over 450 performing arts companies and producers, which represents and advocates for best working practices and aims to lead the industry in ensuring ethical management across the sector.

As Little Dude Media Ltd’s director, Ian Beaumont explains: “Our membership of ITC will help us formalise our relationships with people who come on board as members of The Lost Blonde team and also with our external partners on the play.

“In addition, ITC offers a wide range of invaluable support and resources for independent producers and companies such as ourselves, including management and legal advice, best practice guidance, networking opportunities, training and advocacy. We are very pleased to have been accepted as an organisational member of ITC and look forward to working closely with their team as we prepare to stage The Lost Blonde play.”

Oh, What A Night! A Screening Success Story

The screening of Little Dude Films’ latest short film, From Mother, With Love and our 15th anniversary showreel at The Theatreship, Canary Wharf, London on Friday 17th January 2025 proved to be a great success.

We had over 100 people come along, mostly industry folk, including the film’s cast and crew, along with many invited special guests. Everyone loved the venue, which is literally a ship with a cinema on board, and both the short film and showreel were very well received.

Depicted in the group shot below are, from left to right, the director of From Mother, With Love, Gabi Wood; its writer, Mark A. C. Brown, its co-lead actor, Fiz Marcus; its producer, Ian Beaumont of Little Dude Films; and its other co-lead actor, Phillipa Flynn.

The other pictures capture moments from the evening on board The Theatreship. As Ian Beaumont says: “We are very grateful to everyone who came along on Friday to support our latest film and help us commemorate Little Dude Films’ 15th anniversary.

“In terms of the showreel, it was lovely to hear one of the guests tell me after watching it that she now wanted to see every one of the films depicted in it. And in terms of From Mother, With Love we’re hoping to build on its warm reception on Friday by putting it into various film festivals. We will keep everyone posted about how we get on.”

We're starting what promises to be a busy 2025 in fine style with a cast, crew and guests' screening later this month of our new short film, From Mother, With Love, directed by Gabi Wood, and also of our new three minute showreel, featuring short clips from our film and TV projects over the last 15 years.

The Play's The Thing

We are moving forward at pace with the theatrical version of The Lost Blonde, a new play about the life and career of Veronica Lake, the 1940s Hollywood film icon and “peek a boo blonde.”

We aim to put The Lost Blonde on at a prestigious London theatre in 2025. If that run is successful, we will then take the play to a leading regional theatre or on tour, before bringing it back to a larger London theatre in 2026/2027.

We are delighted to welcome production assistants Marion Krim and Hannah Rainbow as new members of The Lost Blonde team. Marion and Hannah were both selected out of over 130 people who responded to an advert we recently posted for a new PA/Researcher on the project.

They join the play's experienced and talented team of director, Rohan Gotobed; general managers, Carrie Croft and Conor Dye of Croft and Dye Productions; art director/set designer, Ellie Wintour; PA, Jonah Kastner; and myself, Ian Beaumont, the project’s writer/producer, as valued members of the team.

We are currently looking for an experienced theatre executive producer to help us raise the finances for the play.

If you are interested in the executive producer role or know someone who might be, please email Marion and Hannah at [email protected] attaching a CV and we will send you various materials relating to the play, including the script, pitch deck and topline budget.

We’ll update you with progress with the staging of the play, including when and where it's being performed during 2025.

Mum's The Word!

Our latest short film, the comedy/drama From Mother, With Love, directed by Gabi Wood, written by Mark A.C. Brown and produced by Ian Beaumont of Little Dude Films is now completed and hitting the film festival circuit.

We plan to screen the film for its brilliant cast and crew in the new year and will update you about its progress in festivals, as soon as we hear back from those we’ve entered it into.
