Fredrikstad are feeling completely robbed after a massive refereeing controversy against Bodø/Glimt.
With the match tied at 1-1, the entire Fredrikstad Stadion erupted as Henrik Skogvold found the back of the net, seemingly firing the hosts into the lead. However, the celebrations were instantly cut short by a highly controversial offside flag.
Rather than letting play develop under the VAR layout, the call stood, leaving the FFK camp completely fuming. Speaking directly after the final whistle, a frustrated Skogvold did not hold back:
🗣️ “I think it is shocking. It is human to make mistakes, but then there is a bit of being dead certain that is perhaps a bit small-provoking in those situations there. What I have received information about is that it is stark onside. Our analyst found pictures and thought it was onside. It looks very onside too, if you ask me. It's just heavy. It took our analyst two seconds to find pictures of it. I saw on the TV pictures that they cut out the guy who canceled out the offside. It is very stupid.”
The tactical frustration extended to the dugout. When shown the TV replays of the disallowed goal, Fredrikstad manager Casper Friis Røjkjær raised his eyebrows in complete disbelief:
🗣️ “It is difficult for me to see from here. But we must assume that they have all the tools they are supposed to use, so I must assume that they have seen an offside. But I find it difficult to see it here. We can't do much about it now, but it's frustrating.”
Instead of a historic home victory, the decision turned the game, allowing Glimt to secure the points down the other end.
