Getting those fiddly little parts for your car can sometimes cost a fortune — not to mention that you have to wait forever for them to be shipped from the country where they’re made. And, with the world in its current state, both the delays and the costs are likely to get worse.

Or you could simply print them yourself. This video shows how to create the surrounds for a parking sensor VDU display. A fraction of the cost, and it takes hours instead of weeks — or more.

If you want to find out more about how to create the components you need, book in for one of our workshops, here in the heart of Lowestoft, to learn how to make the most of 3D printing at home.

Do you think of 3D printing as science fiction? Or something that only major businesses can afford?

Well, computers used to be like that, too. And, just as with the home computing revolution of the 80s and 90s, 3D printers are now within the price range of the average household.

And they’re certainly a lot more than just an expensive toy. How would you like to:

Create your own replacement parts, without having to sit around waiting for delivery?

Print components for your hobby, whether that’s gaming or mountain-biking?

Craft your own unique personalised gifts for your friends and family?

You can do all this and more with your own 3D printer — but you have to know how to use it. Book in for one of our workshops, here in the heart of Lowestoft, to learn how to make the most of 3D printing at home.

Some items just aren’t easy to get hold of through the normal channels. Maybe they’re expensive; maybe they take forever to arrive; maybe what’s available is similar to what you want, but not quite right.

This video shows how quick and easy it is the print those obscure items. For these curtain rail holders for a boat, we did a test print and then printed out a whole batch of them.

You might not want curtain rail holders for boats, but there must be items that are just too much trouble to go looking for. If you want to find out more about how to create these things yourself, book in for one of our workshops, here in the heart of Lowestoft, to learn how to make the most of 3D printing at home.

We were recently interviewed by East Point Radio about our 3D printing service and the workshops we’re offering.

In this interview, you can hear Vic explaining some of the finer points of printing, from the choice of materials to the problems that might be encountered. Not to mention how some printed replacements might actually be better than the original component.

Do you fancy learning how to use a 3D printer? Perhaps you’ve just bought a machine and are trying to puzzle out the instructions. Or maybe you’re thinking about it but aren’t sure what you’d use it for.

Everyone needs a dragon in their home — and a posable dragon is even better.

You might be able to find one in a shop or online, but they’re as rare as... well, dragon’s teeth. So why not print one yourself?

This is an articulated dragon we printed in 16 hours. And it doesn’t have to be pink. As you’ll see, our final model was a golden dragon.

Whether you want a dragon for yourself or to give as a very special present, you can learn how to print it, or anything else you want, by booking for one of our reasonably priced workshops, here in Lowestoft town centre.

We’re taking 3DGT on the road this weekend! 🚗🏍️

Our Lowestoft shop will be closed this Saturday, 16/05/26, while we’re at Motor Madness on Great Yarmouth seafront.

We’ll be there both days with 3D printed gifts, fidgets, keyrings, useful bits, and examples of the custom replacement-part work we do.

If you’re heading over, come and find us for a browse, a chat, or to ask about an awkward plastic part you’d love to replace.

See you there!

Well it’s now official, no backing out now !
