Portable Bluetooth printer. Belt clip. Battery compartment still accessible.

The customer needed a better way to carry their printer while working.

Using the mounting points already on the back of the printer, Vic designed a removable clip that keeps it close to hand without getting in the way when the battery needs changing.

A couple of test versions and a few tweaks later, it was doing exactly what it needed to.

Not exactly something you find in the printer aisle.

Sometimes the smallest parts cause the biggest headaches.

A customer came to us looking for a replacement clip for their Galaxy pergola. The clips hold the shade screens in place when they are pulled down, but the originals had started to bend and split over time. Replacement parts could not be found online.

Using the original component as a reference, we made 12 replacement clips — enough to replace the damaged ones and keep some spares ready for the future.

They were printed in nylon (PA6/66), chosen for the strength needed and for life outdoors. Because of the direction of force on the clips, they were printed on their side to give them the best strength where it mattered.

That does not create the prettiest finish, but very little is seen once the clips are fitted. For this job, strength and function came first.

A small component.

A much bigger problem avoided.

Can you mount a camera doorbell to a drainpipe?

It turns out you cannot just pop out and buy a bracket that fits one. At least, we couldn't find one.

This customer needed a way to fit their doorbell to the pipe without drilling into the wall. Vic used the camera backplate as a template, worked from the estimated pipe diameter, and designed a custom mount with slots for cable ties to hold it securely in place.

A small rain cover was printed separately and chemically bonded on top to help keep direct rain off the camera. The mount itself was printed in ASA, as this one needed to live outdoors rather than somewhere nice and dry.

A small part, but it meant the camera could go exactly where it was needed.
Sometimes the right part isn't on a shelf somewhere. Sometimes it needs making.

🚨 SIZEWELL SOCIAL CLUB, DATE CHANGE

The Ultimate Inflatables’ Weekend at Sizewell Sports & Social Club has been postponed.
With rain forecast and wind speeds above InflateSafe’s safe operating limits, our weekend has been moved.

📅 New dates: Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September

It’s all the same great fun, just a little later on! Free entry, giant inflatables, food, drink, live music and stalls, all still going ahead.

Please help us spread the word to anyone who was planning to come, so nobody turns up this weekend. 🙏

Lowestoft Town Council invites you to a fun and festive day celebrating the heritage of ordinary working people's lives, with interactive demonstrations from local traders.

The spotlight will be on traditional heritage skills, all set against a backdrop of colour and music for a real festival atmosphere.

Meet the crafters, watch them at work and browse beautiful handmade heritage crafts available to buy.

Food and drink stalls will also be on hand, so you can relax, browse and enjoy the ambience for longer.

Free activities for children will run throughout the day, making it a day the whole family can enjoy.

Across the day you'll be able to see skilled makers including a Blacksmith, Pargetter, Netmaker, Ceramic artist, Stained Glass artist, Tilemaker and Textile artist, among many more.

Expect live bands, dance and costumes to bring it all to life, as you learn about and celebrate the skills of the ordinary people who came before us.
