A Burscough drug dealer who planned the supply of £800,000 worth of co***ne has been jailed for nine years and two months.

John Germaine, 33, of Holt Drive, was arrested on September 27 last year on Bolton Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield, by officers from the specialist Merseyside Organised Crime Partnership (OCP).

Drone footage shows the chaos caused on Switch Island after an accident on Saturday destroyed the traffic light control box.

Disruption is now expected at the busy junction until repairs are completed, which are not expected to take place until Friday, May 13 or Saturday, May 14, at the earliest.

A Royal Mail employee of the Ormskirk sorting office has been accused of theft.

The ‘postie’ was delivering a parcel to an address that he was prohibited from attending, after a previous incident with the resident.

When the postie arrived at the Ormskirk address, CCTV showed him leave his liveried Royal Mail van (with the door open and the engine running) at 11:04 on 23/9/2021 with a parcel.

The postie was seen to scan the parcel and he proceeded to walk up the path to the front door.

When the postie reached the front door, he made no attempt to deliver the parcel, he then turned around and walked off again with the parcel. As the postie walked back to the van, CCTV captured him ‘clicking‘ his tracker to indicate that the parcel was delivered.

It’s frustrating getting lost on a new housing estate - but even more so when the developers leave it over a year to put up new street names…

That’s been the case on the new Goldcrest estate near Maghull North station with a number of delivery drivers complaining of getting lost simply because of the lack of street signs.
