New Update 25th July. Since posting this the canal locks are now closed untill further notice. A cill failed on one of the locks and lots of water escaped and a desicion was made to implement a full closer straight away.

To all fellow boaters please note that there is a CRT email update that the lock flights Bosley and Marple on the Macclesfield canal are closing down from 1st August or possibly before that date due to extremely low reservoir water levels that feed the canal.
Boats advised that water levels may drop more during the period of lock operation.
