Hi , a reminder that the singles social 'Let's Get Acquainted' for ages 45ish-55ish (average age at the mo is about 52) is taking place this Wednesday evening at 7pm at The Bollington Brewery Taproom in Macc.

At the moment we have more women than men so to balance this out I am offering FREE TICKETS to 2 men. These will go to the first 2 men to email me ([email protected]) with their name, age, and 3 interesting things about themselves.

This event is designed to make meeting other singles easy and fun.

3 interesting things about all participants are shared in advance of the event so everyone knows something about everyone else in the room.

On the evening you'll play some light hearted games (where you partner up and compete against all the other couples in the room), and conversation starters spark some fun and engaging chats.

When I created this post I intended it to be flippant; to imply that what we are doing at Huzzah!! Singles is a matter of life or death.

But the more I thought about it (and fiddled around with it in Canva) the more I realised that for some of us, this is sadly true.

There are many studies to support the notion that loneliness is damaging to our health and can contribute to cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke, and mortality.

I wish I had a remedy to banish loneliness from our lives, but I don't. All I can offer you is a warm welcome, easy conversation, and some light hearted fun with some good people, on a few evenings over the coming months.

'Do people actually come to our events on their own?'

This is the number one question we get asked.

And I get it. Going into a social situation on your own is scary!

But here's the thing...
a. You won't be on your own
b. We're gonna make it easy for you to start great conversations
c. If you attended with someone, there's a danger they'd hamper your style
d. Everyone else is in the same boat

So come on, conquer any doubts and make your Wednesday worth living.

I spoke to a friend yesterday who attended a 'Thursday's' single social. He said he found himself competing with a bunch of h***y 28 year olds 😬.

Don't know about you but that sounds like my idea of hell.

If you're seeking connection over a hook up, and the organ you are led by is your heart then 'Let's Get Acquainted' is for you.

We'd still like to see more men and women aged 45-55ish a week today. Especially men of the aforementioned variety ❤️
