The Cottage

The Cottage Music Production 'The Cottage' was a family run business created by Roger Boden. Roger, very sadly passed away in July 2020.

The studio first opened it's doors in 1984 on the outskirts of Macclesfield in rural Cheshire. Over the years many artists, bands and musicians came here for various projects ranging from demos for local musicians to masters for established international artists. In 2023 and after nearly 40 years in business, the studio finally closed it's doors for good. This page remains active in memory of Roger and for anyone who recorded here over the years.

To all our wonderful clients past and present,

It's with a heavy heart that we announce that after almost 40 years in business, The Cottage is closing its doors for the final time.

We are incredibly proud of what Roger achieved since building the studio back in 1984. His legacy will live on forever through the many recordings produced here. If you're lucky enough to own a record with Roger's name on it, please cherish it.

Wesley and I take great comfort in all the wonderful memories made here, but now begins a new chapter - both for us and the black and white building itself. We sincerely hope the next family to call The Cottage their home are equally as happy for many years to come.

Finally, we'd like to thank everyone who made music with us over the years. You all played a part in making The Cottage such an incredible place to live and work.

โš ๏ธJust a heads up to anyone coming to the studio/for singing lessons. There are major roadworks at Broken Cross roundabout which started yesterday, and it's already causing hold ups from all directions. Unfortunately this is going to last 22 weeks! ๐Ÿ˜•
Please allow plenty of time where possible for travel in and out of Macclesfield.

'The Cottage' is a family run business which first opened it's doors in 1984 on the outskirts of Macclesfield in rural Cheshire. Over the years many artists, bands and musicians have been here for various projects ranging from demos for local bands to masters for established international artists. Our modest but very well equiped studio boasts a large selection of outboard equipment combined with both analogue and digital technology to cater for all tastes. By offering a comfortable and friendly environment many clients have found our facilities less intimidating than some, and our long standing reputation is second to none. More recently, we have integrated video and web development into our workflow which now places us firmly in the position to be able to offer affordable multimedia facilities for music and commercial purposes alike.
