Not Hatfield House just casually being one of my fave history days out this year!

There’s an obscene amount of history here - it’s actually one of the places Elizabeth I grew up AND where she was when she learnt she was now Queen - and an even more obscene amount of beautiful rooms.

Hatfield House closes for the season on 3 September and opens again in May, but there are tours of the Tudor Old Palace until the end of September (there was a wedding in there when we visited so I WILL be back to visit again - and possibly do an If These Walls Could Talk video, what do you think?)

What does an outsidey girl need to pack for an outdoorsy holiday? 🌳🛘🌊🥾

I’m going to Devon for a week with my bestie and the chilled holiday with cute strolls by the sea and afternoon teas has SOMEHOW turned into an outdoorsy trip with getting into any sea pools or waterfalls we just happen to cross paths with and… hikes. HIKES. My bestie has mentioned hikes TWICE 😱

Haha honestly I’m so buzzing to have a bit of a different holiday, but I have NOTHING practical in my wardrobe.

Do I need a changing robe?
Should that be leopard print?
Do I need a sensible backpack?
Should that be leopard print too?
Is it gonna be easier to change out of a bikini or a swimsuit?
Do I need a fleece?
And perhaps a second pair of leggings?
And should everything just be leopard print?

(I don’t see a world where I’m buying and wearing waterproof trousers or anything *too* practical, so if you could help a girl curate a Diet Coke style packing list that would be MARVELLOUS 😂😇)

Car Chats episode 1 🚗🎤: the one where I talk about rubbish mental health, subway salads and feeling guilt all the time about everything every day.

I’d love to start doing more chilled videos just chatting to you/vlogging when I’m in the car. And what better way to start than by crying on the internet and laying my soul bare a bit… 😂

Anyone else feel like they have nothing no left atm? No energy, no creativity, no brain space. I think we all need an adults half term and to take a good ol’ break.

I know lots of you are feeling overwhelmed, tired, guilty, all the things for your own reasons too, so I thought it might be helpful to know you’re not feeling those feelings alone 💖

Hmmm wonder why my brain is feeling like a rubbish pile of rubbish this week?! 😳➡️ Anyone else?

I also think the endless heat has made it worse too - draining our energy so we don’t want to/can’t do anything, but our homes are HOTTER THAN THE SUN so staying in is rubbish too.

I’ve had a good couple of years after really struggling with my mental health for nearly a decade, so I know I can luckily self-care my way out of this one ✨

What’s your best self care tip for s**t mental health days?

Just me having the BEST time (on a Richard III walking tour pub crawl of Leicester with Truth and Tale Tours )

Not a post with an inspiring message, or with short captions on every photo to tell a story.

Just my fave pics from my camera roll yesterday of one of my fave history days ever!

My girls Elizabeth Earle and Katie Doughty brought the Wars of the Roses and Richard to life, as we drank in pubs, made new friends, and nerded out together. (And I got to play Margaret Beaufort 😮🤩)

And I ended the night with a McDonald’s in the biggest bed ever watching Bridget Jones 💖

The girls also put such a working class history focus on the day too; not just with promoting local pubs, but telling us about the men and women behind the kings and queens and nobility we know about. Fricking love that.

(And I’m told they’re going to do a medieval Christmas event too eeekk 👀 defo check them out)

Please help me decide what to wear to a Richard III themed walking tour pub crawl, where my girl has set the dress code as ‘wear that thing in your wardrobe you never get the chance to wear / wear what you’d wear to Edward IV’s bday party’

She’s a very stretchy fabric so size down if you’re between sizes. She doesn’t have pockets, but… she’s sexy right?! So I think straight men will be begging to hold your stuff tbh.
