Go graphic this Christmas with original graphic novels from B7 Comics.

HANCOCK: The Lad Himself

The story of the legendary comedian Tony Hancock in words, pictures, and not without a few interruptions from The Lad Himself, who proves a little infuriated at how his story is told... as those who know and love his work would fully expect!

“Hancock: The Lad Himself is a tour de force of biographical graphic storytelling, relentlessly drilling through every facet of Hancock’s tragicomic life.” - Dave Gibbons.

MR JONES’S SMOKING BONES

“Mr Jones’s Smoking Bones” is an occult mystery set across London, India, and the dimensions beyond death.

London,1867. The East India Company has fallen, and a smoking skeleton is killing ex-company members. A drug-addled Indian detective with a deep-rooted hatred of the British Empire is drawn into the investigation and enters a world of secret societies and the occult.

“An extraordinary work, an afterlife mystery approached almost as science fiction, with layers of politics and history. It feels like nobody’s written any previous comics and a master stylist has started anew without reference to genre or medium. In other words, Iqbal Ali is the new Alan Moore.” - Paul Cornell

B7 Comics set to revive iconic comic book space hero “Dan Dare” in a new series of graphic novels written by Alex de Campi with art by Marc Laming.

B7 Comics has teamed up with bestselling author and screenwriter Alex de Campi (Rogue Trooper: Ghost Patrol and Duncan Jones’ Madi: Once Upon A Time in the Future) and Marc Laming (James Bond, Eden, Endeavour) for a three-book reimagining of the classic British adventure strip Dan Dare, with the full approval of the rights holders The Dan Dare Corporation.
“A dying planet, a desperate mission—and a first contact that may spell the end of human life as we know it…” sets the scene for these all-new Dan Dare comic book adventures.

A crowdfunding campaign for Book One “First Contact” will officially launch on 1 February 2026 and, if successful, Dan Dare: First Contact will be published in Q4 2027. The script for Book One has already been written, and Marc is itching for take-off – and, in fact, has already drawn some early concept art!
Stay tuned as we count down to project launch, as we will be posting the first eight fully lettered and coloured pages of the book on the Kickstarter campaign page.

Dan Dare: First Contact is a circa 112-page, graphic novel which will be offered as an eBook, paperback, hardback and premium Kickstarter-exclusive hardback edition.

London,1867. The East India Company has fallen, and a smoking skeleton is killing ex-company members. A drug-addled Indian detective with a deep-rooted hatred of the British Empire is drawn into the investigation and enters a world of secret societies and the occult.

Fortean Times describes Mr Jones’s Smoking Bones as a series “…where science and the occult met in the shadow of the British Empire… An excellent comic told from a different perspective to others set in this era.”

BSFA, Eagle and Hugo Award winning writer Paul Cornell says: “An extraordinary work, an afterlife mystery approached almost as science fiction, with layers of politics and history. We’re really proud of the comic book storytellers we’re able to give a publishing platform too via our .comics imprint, which we’ll hoping to grow over the next few years. Our latest graphic novel collaboration, the occult mystery “Mr Jones’s Smoking Bones” written by Iqbal Ali with art by Priscilla Grippa, comes out this November, but you can pre-order direct from .media < www.b7media.com/shop/ >, which will help us support further indie comic book creators.

Publisher came across creator/writer Iqbal Ali a few years back and was immediately struck by Iqbal’s self-published indie series. He was determined to help Iqbal find a wider audience, so we’re delighted to be publishing the entire series over two volumes.

Sewell says about Mr Jones’s Smoking Bones: “Iqbal has set his story in 1867 during a fascinating period in British colonial history, melding a supernatural mystery story, with the politics of the time, not shying away from the inherent racism. It’s a story that intrigues and demands your attention from the first page, with hints of science fiction, and not a superhero in sight, which is refreshing. It’s exactly this kind of rich, character led stories that defines what B7 Comics is all about.”

There are multiple awards events out their recognising the creativity and originality of the audio producer - some are excellent like the AudioUK backed Audio Production Awards (focusing on celebrating the craft behind the production) - but for most producers in the indie sector, fighting to even fund their ideas, they’re often excluded due to the prohibitive cost of entry and the fact that many awards initiatives (like The British Podcast Awards) are first and foremost driven by the commercial imperative to attract advertisers and sponsors. As a consequence indie talent tends to get muscled out of contention, unable to compete with the major players with their deep pockets and marketing budgets, etc.

The British Independent Audiobook Awards (BIAA’s) is looking to redress this inequality—with a brand new awards event dedicated to recognising and celebrating the unique achievements of the best independent talent in audio of all types, rewarding creativity, originality, and collaboration across the indie audio sector.

As the founder of these awards Colin Sinclair of Behear says: “We know that the most powerful audio stories are often born outside the mainstream, crafted by artists who are passionate about bringing characters and worlds to life in their own way. The BIAA’s were founded to shine a spotlight on those voices—celebrating originality, innovation, and the spirit of collaboration that drives our creative community.”

That’s a sentiment to be applauded and B7 Media’s producers Andrew Mark Sewell and Helen Quigley have joined an impressive line-up of judges for its inaugural year. So why not enter now? Submissions close at midnight on the 31st of September> www.behear.co.uk/biaas
