The North Yorkshire Moors Railway has announced that the legendary Tornado locomotive will be back in steam on selected dates from 27th July to 8th August.

Completed in 2008 as the first new-build mainline steam locomotive in over half a century, this powerhouse of British engineering is a favourite with rail enthusiasts and film fans alike (even starring in Paddington 2!).

Passengers can pre-book seat-allocated return journeys from Pickering, or even upgrade to a special evening Fish & Chips service on 29th July.

SASH (Safe and Sound Homes) is celebrating 30 years of preventing youth homelessness, marking three decades of life-changing support for vulnerable young people across York and the surrounding areas.

To mark the anniversary, the charity has planned a series of special events, including a Gala Ball on 2 October, the SASH Sleepout at York Racecourse on 16 October, and the launch of a new SASH Business Club.
