🔥NEW EPISODE ALERT! 🔥 Let’s give our Asians across the pond some love! Whenever we have conversations about Asian diasporic experiences on social media, it tends to be dominated by Asian Americans.

To switch it up (and to get a wider perspective of what “Asian experiences” truly are), we reached across the pond over to the UK to bring Allie () onto the podcast!

We talk about our fierce love for dim sum–and how it’s also a source of a deep fear when we share it with non-Asian folks. We also talk about what it’s like to grow up in Britain as a BBG (British Born Chinese), as well as the differences between growing up Asian in the UK vs. the US. 🇬🇧

OUR NEW EPISODE IS OUT!!🔥 What happens when two teachers and two techies talk?

Let’s be real: teachers are highly educated. They wear many hats like adolescent psychologist, mentor, older sibling, food provider, public speaker, mandated reporters…AND YET, teachers make a fraction of what people in the tech industry make.

This in turn affects family job expectations and student career interests. What does this pay disparity say about our society and what it values?

Join Jen and Yonsoo for a discussion with their friends: Lillian Chen () who is a Product Designer and Lior Schenk (.sch) who is a middle school teacher.

EPISODE 6 IS OUT! 💥 Have you heard of boba liberalism?🧋

Maybe you’ve seen someone on Subtle Asian Traits accuse people in the comments for being a “boba liberal.” Or maybe you’re also annoyed with those IG ads that try to sell you soju-patterned pajamas, or tees that say “Boba Lover.”

BOBA LIBERALISM is a superficial form of activism that follows mainstream liberal Asian American political goals and thinking.

Just like the drink, boba liberalism is activism that is sweet and palatable to white audiences, but its goals and outcomes are substanceless.

When all you stand for is more Asian representation in the media, is that enough? Will you be happy and stop speaking out when that’s done?

Neha returns to the podcast to talk about similar trends she sees in Desi culture (“chai liberalism”), and also drops gems of wisdom as she always does. 💎 We couldn’t have asked a better guest to wrap up this season with us!

You can listencto our season finale now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. ✌️

🔥NEW EPISODE IS OUT!!🔥 We invited Christina (.to.cum) from The Best is Yet to Cum Podcast to talk about s*x positivity, and what that looks like for the API community.

We also discuss:
💦 Why we have so much shame around s*x!!
🤓 S*x education (and the lack of it).
😬 Dating while Asian.
❌ The double standards Asian women face in both s*x and dating.

Thirsty for more? 🥴 Then check out our new episode on Spotify or Apple Podcasts! (We do, however, recognize that most of the discussions in this episode involve heteros*xual experiences.)

That’s why we HIGH KEY encourage you to check out .to.cum for QTPOC experiences and stories. Christina is an AMAZING podcaster who provides a safe space for all folks to speak about s*x!! 🙌

You hear that? Give Charles your story. Give him your identity!

Enjoy this teaser reel from our upcoming episode dropping this Tuesday! (11/23, 5 am EST)

We all know that seasoning and flavor are a given when it comes to good food. What criteria do we use to judge whether food is good or bad? For Charles, it's flavor, texture, and the story behind the dish. Asian cuisine is incredibly versatile and uses ingredients that are normally thrown away or considered scrap. My family actually buys the salmon head and bones instead of filets at HMart. We season and broil the carcasses until the bones become super crispy. My grandfather goes for the salmon eyes and cheeks. Mix that cheek meat with hot white rice? Perf

Let us know in the comments how you or your family turn "dirty" ingredients into loveable dishes! What makes up your criteria for good food?

🚨New episode coming out this Tuesday 11/23! 🚨
What is the price worthy of Asian food?
What price do our respective cultures pay for the success of Asian food?

These are a few of questions we will be discussing with our guests, Charles and Saadia, who are incredibly passionate about food. Charles brings in his knowledge of Taiwanese cuisine. Saadia brings in her expertise of foodie culture and her Pakistani heritage. Together we explore what food means to us and why food has such a deep impact in our lives.

Have you taught or want to teach abroad? If so, where?

We want to thank our guest, Dominique ( ) for sharing with us her experiences in Shanghai, Suzhou, and many other places. Thank you for your hilarious stories while explaining the ups and downs of working abroad as a Black woman. Life can be easier for a teacher! We also see examples of how anti-Blackness & White Supremacy can be absorbed by people of all cultures thousands of miles away.

Teaching at an international school definitely has its perks since many of us are coming from countries that have a lot of financial, military, and soft power compared to the host country. But as you heard, life gets a bit complicated depending on your physical appearance.

Thank you again, Dominique for sharing something so personal!
