*JAMORAI FC WERE HELD TO ONE ALL DRAW AT SOHM LEAGUE OPENER.*

*Saturday 9th August 2025 SOHM SPORTS COMMITTEE under the dynamic leadership of MR AMADOU JARJU successfully opened it's 2025 senior league tournament.The mouthwatering encounter was played between the last year defending league champions JAMORAI FC VS NEMA UNITED.*

*NEMA UNITED went to the break with a 1-0 led thanks to an astonished finisher from the ever reliable YUNUSA CEESAY NEMA UNITED have dominated most part of the first half . Coming in to the second period of the game it was a different story,as defending champions JAMORAI find their rhythm in the second half with an equaliser from their talisman MUSA JARJU.Which later boosted their confidence and dominated most part of the second half.Some numerous chances were created by both sides but failed to take them and the first day of the opening game ended 1-1.*

*The occasion was graced by some dignitaries led by the VDC CHAIRMAN MR FODAY BADJIE, DEPUTY IMAM ABDOULIE SOWE,VDC VICE CHAIRPERSON EBOU JARJU,SG ALAGIE JARJU, FORMER SPORTS CHAIRPERSON OMAR D JARJU AND PRO AMED SANYANG.*

Brikama Area Council Chairman to Attend Seminar in China

Brikama Area Council is pleased to inform the public that the Chairman of the Council will undertake an official visit to the People’s Republic of China from 7th to 27th August 2025, to participate in a seminar titled:
“Introduction and Utilization of Foreign Capital in Inland Regions for Developing Countries.”

The seminar brings together representatives from various developing countries to exchange ideas and best practices on mobilizing and utilizing foreign capital, particularly in support of regional and inland development.

This engagement aligns with Brikama Area Council’s commitment to fostering international collaboration and identifying innovative strategies for local development. Upon his return, the Chairman will share key insights and outcomes that may benefit communities across the region.

🚛 BAC Fleet Commissioning & Road Show
🗓️ Monday 4th August 2025
We are proud to commission a brand-new fleet to enhance waste management and service delivery across the West Coast Region.
This includes:
5 garbage trucks
1 skip bin loader
2 open trucks
1 bulldozer
1 shovel loader

A new chapter begins for the West Coast Region. The commissioning of this new fleet is a clear demonstration of what focused leadership, accountability, and community support can achieve.

When we took office, we inherited a council in deep financial crisis with millions of dalasis in deficit. Most departments were nonfunctional and public services had nearly collapsed.

But we took bold action. We implemented stringent measures against corruption, prioritized transparency, and rebuilt trust in our institutions. In just two years, your council has turned things around and today stands as proof of that transformation.

This new fleet will significantly boost waste collection and environmental management across the region. These are not just machines. They are tools for progress, cleaner communities, and better service delivery.

We urge all residents to continue paying their taxes. Every dalasi contributes to the development of our roads, services, and neighborhoods.

Let us stand united against corruption.
. Don’t cover up wrongdoing.
That is how we can build a stronger, cleaner, and more accountable West Coast Region together.

As part of our unwavering commitment to inclusive education, the Brikama Area Council (BAC) has successfully paid the tuition fees of 8 students currently enrolled at Al Ihsan Islamic University in The Gambia amounting to a total of GMD 136,000.

This milestone reinforces our belief that education in all its forms secular or Islamic deserves equal support.

At BAC, we remain committed to ensuring that no student is left behind, and that our development efforts reflect diversity, equity, and opportunity for all.

Education is the backbone of progress, and we are proud to stand with our youth across all disciplines.
