A note to my younger self: stop going on the computer hun, touch more grass but equally no piczo coding or MySpace Top 8 is wasted, social media is going to be your job one day!!

Being the funny one isn't a b***y prize but don't feel the need to be extra extra to make up for other insecurities. They'll all fade away and you'll learn to love yourself whilst having a lol.

Never everrr dumb yourself down - geeking it up is the ONE! You love learning and that'll never go away but there'll be less time for it, don't waste time trying to impress people or thinking that you need to!

I'm coming up to five years of January 92 Social-ing and whilst there's lots of things I'm still learning there are some pieces of tech and online tools I couldn't be without!

No joke, I've got four phones on the go and yes, if I had a pound for how many times people question what I work as, I'd be rivalling half of the criminal underworld 😂💸 See I'm an Android Hun, so I love a Google Pixel but you can't deny an iPhone for certain functionality and camera quality. The other two, I like to have all my clients IGs logged in at once without toggling between them all - can't be missing a thing! Also, can you rely on any phones battery in these streets?! I'll never be caught short.

📹 My new fave DJI osmo content creator package. A recent investment and one of my biggest to date really, I LOVE it though and it's really elevated my day to day content for me and my clients. SO easy to use, transfer images and video directly to my phone for editing. I cannot WAIT to use it on holiday. was the one for helping me find the right kit for me!

📸 Flashback camera. It comes as no shock than I'm a big 90s fan, you can't beat the old disposable photos! This little wonder takes 27 images a day, they're developed in 24 hours and 'delivered' to an app on your phone! No waiting outside Boots for a wallet full of thumb covered snaps. I've used this for events and when clients want some old school magic you just can't replicate with a filter!

📓 notebooks - I've toyed with getting a digital writing pad ( and I've been eyeing you up) but you just can't beat actual pen and paper! The joy when you can CROSS something off your list, I'm tempted by new tech but will I ever be swayed?

👩‍💻 Canva, Capcut, QuickBooks and Meta Business Suite. My most opened tabs! Content creation, money management and post scheduling. These are my business besties and the first things I tell any fledgling SMM to master, or any business on social actually! I've tried different versions of all of these tools but always come back to the GOATS.

A bit of a beg on toast post 🍳(with Jellycat vibes that will surely draw you in?)

👩‍🏫 Following delivering some guest lectures on Content Creation and Social Media Marketing for Capital City College over the last year or so, I’d love to do more! If anyone has connections in Adult Learning or Higher education either Stockport/Manchester based (or remote) I’d love to connect!

🤳Secondly - another goal of mine this year is to secure some brand partnerships/UGC deals with relevant b2b businesses. Lots of the wonderful agencies I’ve worked alongside are more in the lifestyle/beauty space so if anyone has any pointers towards teams who work with business creators I’d love that!

There’s so much advice flying around on social media:
“Show more of you!”
“Be vulnerable!”
“Let people in!”

And while I fully appreciate the value of connection and authenticity — here’s the thing, it has to work for you and your brand.

Your audience can absolutely love your product, your values, and the journey it took to get here, but that doesn’t mean they need a selfie of you sobbing over a returned order, or a play by play of your hardest personal week.

Sharing behind the scenes is powerful, when it makes sense. If it’s on brand, go for it.
But if it’s not, protect your peace!

Oversharing for the sake of it can confuse your audience and drain your energy. You don’t owe the internet your vulnerability to be successful. You owe it your clarity.
