So how do you take advantage of this actually useful update?

✨ Write clear, keyword friendly captions
No cryptic or overly clever lines — use the words your audience actually search for!

✨ Add descriptive alt text
Especially on Reels + carousels. Help Google (and your audience) get what your content is all about.

✨ Double-check your profile settings
Make sure your account’s public and searchable — otherwise, none of this matters.

SEO isn’t just for websites anymore.

This is a brilliant opportunity to get more life (and reach) out of the content you’re already creating.

Yesterday marked 29 years of Wannabe 💘✌️

I was taken in by Girl Power from the first time I saw Geri, Mel B, Mel C, Victoria and Emma on Top of the Pops in August 1996 performing their debut single. I feel so lucky to have grown up as part of that wave of joy, passionate female friendship and of leopard being accepted as a neutral 🤣🤎 To now share that with my daughters is heaven!

Ask , on my first ever brand shoot I felt compelled to have some Spice memorabilia feature 🤣 despite it making little to no business sense, it's just so me! I haven't shared those pics in this dump because I also had the stiffessst neck and look like a mannequin.

More than just a girl band, more than just pop songs - Happy Wannabe Day to everyone who celebrates 🤣🤍

What to do if you feel a negative PR storm brewing on your socials, whether you’re managing accounts for a brand or your own biz (potentially influenced by current events in the influencer space 👀)

Social media is a brilliant tool — until it’s suddenly not ❌

A dodgy influencer partnership, a less than glowing review, or even following an account that’s caught up in a current furore!

Here’s how to handle it before it spirals:

💬 Monitor, don’t panic
Keep an eye on comments, DMs, and mentions — but don’t overreact or delete unless there’s hate speech or abuse.

🧘‍♀️ Take it offline where possible
“Thanks for your comment — we’ve just sent you a DM so we can resolve this personally.”
Kind, calm, clear — and takes it away from the main feed.

🛑 Avoid arguing in public
Respond once. Stay factual. Keep it short. Then move on. Going back and forth rarely helps your case.

📝 Acknowledge, don’t ignore
Even if you’re working behind the scenes, a simple “We’re aware of the concerns and are reviewing things internally” can go a long way.

📣 Have a plan BEFORE it happens
If you work with influencers, host events, or have a large customer base, it’s not if but WHEN someone has something to say. Prep your tone of voice, escalation steps, and who needs to approve what. This cannot be a case by case situation or ‘awww I really like that person though’ kinda vibe.

Social media is your shop front — make sure it’s one people trust. Transparency > perfection.

Facebook/Meta/my overlords have shared updated guidance suggesting you should now drop your links in the comments instead. Why?

👉Captions with links can be deprioritised in the algorithm
👉Posts without external links front and centre are more likely to reach more people
👉Keeping your caption focused on value or conversation means better engagement overall

📌 So, what should you do?
👉Write a strong, engaging caption
👉Invite interaction (question, poll, reaction)
👉Pop your link in the comments straight after posting
👉Pin it, so it doesn’t get buried

Little tweaks = big difference when it comes to reach and visibility 🔍
