Manchester: Unplugged is my new documentary series for StreamGM that lifts the lid on the region’s incredible songwriting and muscial talent.
The idea’s dead simple: one song, one story, all Manchester.
Each 10-minute cinematic episode follows an artist or band as they trace the journey of a single track, from the spark in someone’s front room, through the graft of writing and recording, to the moment it hits the world.
Tonight's new film lands at 19.00 on StreamGM's website and Youtube channel, and tells the story of legendary house music act K-Klass.
Paul, Russ and Bobbi started out with one goal, to have a song played at The Haçienda.
Rhythm Is a Mystery didn’t just get played (firstly, by Graeme Park) , it became one of the most loved songs in UK house music history.
The trio talk about their journey from Manchester’s techno and acid house scene, to building a 34 year career, chart topping success, grammy nominations and being one of the most loved dance acts of all time.
